To the Evangel podcast. I’m Daniel King. And I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. On today’s episode, I’m going to take you into the studio in Orlando, Florida, and on the ground in Amsterdam, where we are talking about the launch of the global evangelist Alliance. This is per it together by empowered 21 ministry led by Dr. Billy Wilson, the president of oral Roberts university, and the global evangelist Alliance is a ministry that’s designed to bring together spirit empowered evangelists from all, all over the world. This is very exciting. I think it’s gonna raise up an army of evangelists that are going to be passionate about bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. So come with me, live into the studio. As we listen to what God is doing,

Evangelism Podcast Host (02:01):
Hello and welcome to the law launch of the global evangelist Alliance. My name is Caleb Wehrli and I’m the executive director of empower 21. And we’re so glad that you’re joining us today for this global broadcast. You know, today I’m joined with one of my great friends, evangelist, John Luke Trel, the global co-chair of the global evangelist Alliance. John Luke, how excited are you for today’s launch? Oh,

Caleb Wehrli (02:25):
I’m very excited because we are living a historic launch of this global evangelist Alliance. But mainly in Caleb, I know, and I feel already the power and the presence of the holy spirit is coming upon you to be part of what God is going to do for this greatest harvest in the story.

Evangelism Podcast Host (02:44):
That is so amazing. You know, the global evangelist Alliance also known as the GA is a part of empowered 21. It’s a relational network of spirit empowered leaders from denominations and independent church ministry backgrounds that have come together in a relational network that spans the globe separate into 14 regions. We’re seeing God do amazing things around the earth. And part of our vision is to serve a movement and empower a generation. The global evangelist Alliance is one of the groups that we’re able to serve, that people can know more about Jesus and have an encounter with the holy spirit. When we look at the empowered 21 network and what God is doing all around the world, we’re amazed at how so many miracles are happening. And many times people have never even heard the stories, but through the global evangelist Alliance, we are gathering evangelists leaders, pastors, and ministry liaisons that can focus on reaching the end time harvest.

Evangelism Podcast Host (03:48):
We believe that through unity, the holy spirit, reaching the next generation and focusing on the great commission, we can see God do amazing things in the future. We know in the past, the God has done so many amazing things, historic things, even today, as we’re standing in this stadium live from Amsterdam in the Netherlands in 1954, Billy Graham held a crusade in this very stadium reaching an entire nation. And we thought what a better way that we could ever the launch of the global evangelist Alliance, then right here live from the Netherlands. And also with our friends that are gonna join us in just a few moments from the studio live in Orlando. And so on. Today’s broadcast. We have evangelists from around the world that will be here with us, and you’ll hear from them later in the broadcast. And also some that are with our friends in Orlando.

Evangelism Podcast Host (04:43):
It’s gonna be a powerful time over these next few moments. Probably the next hour is gonna impact your life in amazing ways. I wanna encourage you right now to text a friend, email, someone to jump on live right now to the YouTube channel, or they can go live dot power 20 one.com and you can catch all of what God is doing during this historic launch. Now, Sean Luke, when you think about the vision and the mission of empowered 21, there are many people, they, they don’t understand what is empowered 21. And why is the global evangelist Alliance so important?

Caleb Wehrli (05:22):
Well, I do believe in power 21 is really God’s idea. And actually we all know after this pandemic, I hope it’s the end. And we believe the dark season is behind and great, great new season is opening, but I really believe it’s a new area. And actually even the non-believers they know something has changed. We have entered into a new area and this new area, it’s an area to preach the gospel to every nations of the world. And that’s for, I so much enjoy the vision of I power 21. And I encourage you to be part of this vision, not just to watch, but to become an actor, to bring to every human being on this planet earth, to have a personal, real encounter with Jesus Christ through the power and the presence of the holy spirit by Pentecost 2033. Now I have a good news. My friend only through the holy spirit, with the help of the holy spirit, we’ll be able to do that. And the good news is the holy spirit is normal going to bring division among the body of Christ because he is God. And he’s our helper to reach the greatest harvest of E story.

Evangelism Podcast Host (06:43):
You know, as you share the passion and the vision for souls, that’s what E 21 is all about that people would have this authentic encounter with Jesus, through the power and the presence of the holy spirit and make be. You’re watching right now in your room, in your house, in your car, wherever you are, as you’re hearing this vision, as we’re launching the global evangelist Alliance, and you’re wondering, is it about others or is it about me? I wanna encourage you. It’s about you. It’s not about you just starting a MENA or moving to the mission field, but you understanding that God is called each of us to evangelize our mission field for some it’s around the world and for some it’s across the street. But for all of us, we’ve been given the commission to go everywhere and to tell everyone as a network, not only are we reaching people through this global evangelist Alliance, but through many other initiatives that we are seeing people come together in ministries, working together to reach this world for Jesus Christ. I’m joined today by one of my other good friends, evangelist Mattias van dine, who is living here in the nether. And you have ministered around the world and maybe shared just a little bit of how empowered 21 and the global evangelist Alliance is reaching and training leaders around the world.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
Thank you so much, Caleb, such a privilege to be here with you here in Amsterdam, in the Olympic stadium. Thank you for watching this very incredible moment in history. As an evangelist years ago, I came into a beautiful environment. In an event was called empower 21, a network of fathers and mothers who are helping empowering leaders all around the world for the great commission empower 21 is just not a, a movement or just an organization. What I saw and witness all over the world is it empowered 21. It’s helping leaders to unity, very important to unity, to focus what I love about a power 21. It’s not just a unity, but the unity around a fresh outpouring of the holy spirit on this 21st century focus power. 21 is a, a network of leaders who are focusing on the harvest and the challenging. And at times we are facing right now, it’s also discovering together a common strategy, how we can involve every generation to live an empowered life.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
What I love personally, as an evangelist the most is that empower 21 is all about witnessing a love. John three for 16 for God, loved the world so much that he gave his one and only son Jesus Christ, so that everyone who believes in him shall not bear, but have eternal life. And that’s exactly Caleb. Why, why we are here. This is exactly why we are here and why we’re doing empower 21. Why we are launching the global evangelist Alliance. This scripture, I just checked with you is used many times just for evangelists, but listen, imagine this is God’s passion in dream that everyone on planet earth will be saved and encounter Jesus Christ through the power of the holy spirit. And God is talking about you. I don’t believe that this vision of empower 21 is just from an organization it’s straight from the father, heart of God. Imagine every believer starts to end raise this passion. Yes, everyone. Imagine right now from your home, you can do this. This is not just only for evangelists. This is for every spirit filled and empowered Christian. Yeah. Is it possible that before the year, 2023, we can reach every personal planet earth with the power and love of Jesus Christ to the power of the holy or mine? I will say yes. So dream with us, dream with us, dream with us and be part of the global evangelist Alliance.

Evangelism Podcast Host (10:45):
So what you’re talking about and what you’re hearing about from John Luke, and now here from Mattias is this decade of evangelism focused and strategic. He hearing and obeying listening, and then moving forward. We believe that through this broadcast today, it’s gonna be another step in the process of what God has called you to do as you’re watching. And as you’re listening and even in just a few moments, as you hear from our friends in the Orlando studio, Ashley Wilson is our executive assistant director of empower 21. Along with evangelist Nathan Morris, they’re gonna be leading in the conversation there in Orlando and asking questions, hearing stories, and inspiring you and all throughout the broadcast today, you’re gonna have an opportunity to respond first, to responding in understanding what the global evangelist Alliance is all about. You can join the GE. You can go to the website, they’re gonna give you more information on how you an ordinary believer empowered by the holy spirit or a ministry leader, leading an entire denomination or an omega church, wherever you are, wherever you find yourself in ministry.

Evangelism Podcast Host (12:01):
This is a place for you to connect so that we can reap the harvest together. You’re also gonna hear some more information about an exciting initiative that we’re launching today, that we’ll meet next year. And it’s gonna be powerful. You’re gonna hear about it in just a few moments, but more than anything, our heart is that you would be inspired to reach the nations of the earth and the people in those nations like never before. So right now, we’re gonna go to a quick video for the global evangelist Alliance. We’re gonna come back with our friends in the Orlando studio, and they’re gonna share about the global evangelist Alliance

Speaker 6 (12:53):
Moment between the, and the morning when the darkness is overcome, The splits, it surrendering to the light. The is shaped by defining Moments, change the course of history.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
Six five,

Speaker 8 (13:25):
Hey, good day. I’m Ashley Wilson. I’m the assistant director for empowered 21. We are here, live in the shake. The nation’s studios here in Orlando with a bunch of fired up evangelists and people of God here in the room with us today. We’re excited about the launch of the global evangelist Alliance and this new era of evangelism that God is launching us into all around the world. I’m here today with our host evangelist, Nathan Morris, Nathan, why don’t you tell me a little bit about what God’s been saying to you about this new era of evangelism?

Speaker 9 (13:58):
You know, I believe this is potentially an historic day. You know, this began over three years ago and power 21 invited evangelists from across the nations of the world to join Johannesburg, South Africa. It was there that God began to birth this vision that we could see a network. We could see an army of evangelists arise. That’s why we believe the holy spirit is speaking to us. He’s speaking to you right now that this is the Dawn of a new era. I believe multitudes from around the world are gonna hear this call today that there is a fresh harvest of souls that is about to sweep the of the world. You know, as we met also in Dubai, also in Columbia, we felt the stirring of the holy spirit to give this Clarion call today that we, we are about to see a movement. This is not an organization.

Speaker 9 (14:50):
This is, imagine me, imagine just for a moment that there is a network available, a platform, a stage that we can join with you around the world. Imagine if you have a dream to see your city shaken with the gospel of Jesus Christ, we’re gonna provide the, the platform, the network that you can join with evangelists in your region. You can dream together that every single year we’re gonna meet together. Imagine a moment when an army that we can literally converge on a nation on a city evangelists from around the world without agendas, without our ministry titles coming together with one accord, to see God move and shake nations. In these last days, my heart is stirred. I know evangelists around the world. We are stirred because we believe this is not a man idea. This is something that God is birthing by his spirit. You know, we’ve just come out a season of great darkness. That’s right. The nations have been locked down, but I remember the scripture that Paul said to Timothy. He said, I am in chains. I’m locked down. But he said, the word of God is not chain that’s right. And we’re coming out of this lockdown. It won’t be just whimpering and scampering nor we’re coming out as an mighty army to reap this end time harvest in Jesus mighty name, man,

Speaker 8 (16:02):
I’m fired up. I don’t know about you watching at home today, but if your spirit is stirred, like my spirit is stirred. I want to challenge and encourage you connect with GE, go to join ge.org, sign up. Let’s be a part of this. Let’s work together, collaborate together. We believe that God is going to help us reach every person on planet earth by 2033. Yes. And we need your help to do it. So if you’re wondering, man, what is this all about? How can I get more info about this? We want to take a moment and have some of the members of the GE executive team evangelists from all over the world, share with you. So we’ve got a video we’re gonna show you quick. And then we’ll be right back here in the studio with some of other evangelists here, live talking to them about what God is doing in their life and ministry. Okay.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
The purpose of empowerment, 21 is that every person on earth would have an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ through the power and the presence of the holy spirit by Pentecost 2033

Speaker 20 (18:24):
In 2018, there was a historic gathering in Johannesburg. South Africa were many top influencers in evangelism from around the world, gathered to unite around the vision of empowered 21.

Speaker 12 (18:37):
They all laid their swords on the table. They agreed to leave their egos and logos at the door and to help spark a worldwide movement of evangelism. That’d be greater than the sum of any of its parts,

Caleb Wehrli (18:50):
But the global evangelist Alliance is not them. It’s not about us. It’s about you.

Speaker 21 (18:56):
It’s about a place where hundreds of thousands of individual evangelists from around the world can find one another work together, be encouraged and equipped. We have been working behind the scenes to build a firm for you. And now it’s ready.

Speaker 9 (19:12):

Speaker 23 (19:36):
We look forward to working with you to win the world for Jesus.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
Hey,

Speaker 8 (19:49):
Hey, welcome back to our studio here in Orlando. I’m Ashley Wilson. Again, excited to be here on the stage. Of course, we’ve got evangelist Nathan Morris with us, but we’ve also got a couple other members of our GE executive board here in the room with us. We’ve got evangelist, Levi, Lutz, and evangelist, Rubens Kuya with us today excited to have them here. And so guys, I want you guys to have a moment to share with the audience that’s watching and talk a little bit about what God is stirring in your spirit around this vision of GE and reaching every person on earth. Rubens. Why don’t you tell us what the Lord’s saying to you?

Speaker 24 (20:24):
Oh, really excited. I

Speaker 11 (20:27):
Believe there is a new season. I believe there is a new season of evangelism is starting right now. You know, God works with his people through seasons of opportunities. And I believe there is a new season of opportunity in the area of evangelism that is starting right now. As Nathan said earlier, this is not just an organization, an institution. This is a holy spirit movement. This is an opportunity we must grasp and reach the world for Jesus. This is a chance we are having, this is our time, our generation and we must go for it.

Speaker 8 (21:05):
Awesome. Awesome. So Levi’s here with us as well. Levi is a firepower guy for the holy spirit. He was drinking a red bull this morning, too. So, so he’s fired up today. Levi, tell us a little bit about what God is stirring in your heart. I know you have an evangelistic ministry and you also head up boot camps for evangelists sending evangelists out all over the world in some tough situations, but seeing God do incredible things. So talk to me about what God’s saying to you.

Speaker 19 (21:35):
Actually, this is like a dream come true for evangelists because we’re not talking about some distant day of vision. Something we hope comes to pass. We’re talking about a reality. Yeah, that is, that is upon us where the day days of the lone ranger, evangelists, you know, living some life by yourself, calling pastors, trying to book meetings are done and instead Evangel strategically mobilized it. You know, something pops off in the world. Some you know, just a Mon event and people are hurting. They can strategically collaborate. We’re gonna target that area with the gospel mobile and come in and just send a shock wave of the holy spirit, power of God. These are the days we’re about to be living in. And that’s what this launch of the GA is all about.

Speaker 8 (22:18):
You know, I’m so excited about that as I’ve prayed about the GA and what God is doing in this season, you know, I, what my sense and what I think the Lord tells us in the word is things are gonna get tougher in the world. Not easier. You know, Jesus talked about famines and plagues and wars and rumors of war. We’re seeing that if you’re watching the news right now happening all across the world and even in Europe. But I, I, I agree with you that I think the platform, the Lord is building that we want everyone who’s watching to be a part of, of is gonna give us the opportunity to counter attack the enemy and punch him right in the face. When he, I love it rises up with evil. We’re gonna come in like a flood with the holy spirit and God is gonna take what the enemy intended for evil and turn it on its head. And we’re gonna see a harvest. Like we have never seen. I believe that everyone is gonna be touched by the power of the holy spirit and have the opportunity to know Jesus, but we gotta get our act together. And so that’s what the GE is all about. Nathan, what do you think?

Speaker 9 (23:22):
You know, I’ve been waiting for this day, really, since I came to Christ, you know, when I got saved, the Lord showed me a vision and I saw in one night I saw whole nation shaken. And I, I, I saw stadiums all over the nation, just evangelists ascending into that place. And, and I saw a nation tremble and I said, Lord, how can this happen? What I’m seeing right now, when I sat around those tables with evangelists from around the world, the we came and said, holy spirit, what does an end time harvest look like? And the first thing we heard was need to come together. Yeah. With one heart. And I, I need people to hear this from our heart evangelists around the world. You’re gonna hear from major ministries today. In the past year, we had great evangelists, Billy Grahams, Reinhardt, bunks, TL Osbornes they were generals of the faith, but this is the end time harvest.

Speaker 9 (24:20):
Won’t be about one man stood on one pulp. It will be about an army of believers. Yeah, we can’t. This is not even about evangelistic ministries. This is about the body of Christ. If you have a heart that is burning to preach the gospel, come join us. We’re waiting for you. We’re ready that we’re gonna, we’re about to make some announcements today that are gonna be historic. This is not some distant thing. We’re we are about to converge inters and see them shaken for the glory of God. In one night, nations are gonna be shaken. That’s right in Jesus mighty that’s

Speaker 8 (24:55):
Right. I believe it. If you’re at home watching and your, your heart is stirred, you say, man, I gotta be a part of this. I want to join with the army that God is putting together. Again, go to join ge.org. You can sign up there. It’s free. We want you to be a part of this. And we’re gonna talk more in just a little bit about some of the benefits of doing that and how we’re gonna practically put this thing together so that we can reach people all over the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Guys. Why don’t you tell me a little bit about what you’re seeing God in your personal ministry. I know Rubens does a lot of ministry in Brazil. He’s also been doing crusades and towns across the United States. He was in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Last summer saw miracles, demons cast out right there in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was awesome. Rubens, tell us a little bit about what God’s doing.

Speaker 11 (25:44):
Yeah. I believe God is really open up hearts during this season for the end time harvest. I’ve been in ministry for close to 30 years, and I am realizing I’m seeing openness in people’s hearts that I haven’t seen before. The miracles are increasing. The hunger for Jesus is increasing many times. I heard people saying, Hey, you’ve been preaching around the world in Africa and south America. And you see those miracles. Why don’t we see those miracles here in America? Well, we are seeing them. Yeah. We had a campaign in Tulsa, Oklahoma, another one in St. Cloud, Minnesota. And we saw blind eyes open. The deaf are hearing the labor walking demons being test out. It is revival time.

Speaker 11 (26:27):
And the through GE one thing that really amazes me is that we will be able to work together as evangelists. We will be able to come together to share the experiences we had to share the anointing from the anointing we have received from the Lord. And, and this is vital because I believe collaboration is at the very heart. Yeah. Of the great commission. Yeah. If you see in mark chapter 16, verse 20, the Bible says that the disciples, when everywhere preaching the gospel and Jesus worked with them. Yeah. Confirming the message with signs and wonders. Yeah. So listen to that. As, as the disciples went out, collaborating with one another, Jesus collaborated with them. Yes. For a harvest of soul and miracles. And I believe with all my heart that through GE evangelist will enter a level of collaboration that is unprecedented. Yeah. And we will see an unprecedented harvest of souls and miracles.

Speaker 8 (27:31):
Amen. I

Speaker 11 (27:31):
Believe that’s this season.

Speaker 8 (27:33):
Amen. Levi, tell us a little bit, what is God doing? What are you

Speaker 19 (27:36):
Seeing? Amen. Ashley, I’ll tell you exactly what I’m seeing. And, and Nathan and I talked about this as a few weeks ago on a broadcast. I’m seeing a divide right down the middle, across the world of those who want an excuse and to say, things are locked down and those who want harvest, but people can’t have both ways. Okay. And so whether it’s through together in the harvest and what we’re doing, you know, igniting churches with revival, fire, mobilizing believers to go out are the Christ for all nations boot camp, raising up evangels. Those who wanna see soul save. There’s not a lockdown. There’s not a hindrance that can stop them. And I say that for you, that are hearing this invitation right now to join the GA, to be part of this, you can sit at home and have another excuse. You can say, well, that’s something I really want to do.

Speaker 19 (28:18):
That makes me burn. But the time is not right. There’s this hindrance or that hindrance, or you can say, Jesus now is the season. The time is short. I want to be part of this in time harvest. And if you want that, my friend, Ashley, people that want that, I’ve seen God pour out the presence of God. People are coming to salvation. We look at these lockdowns and things that have happened as a hindrance, man, this is one of the greatest things that’s ever happened because people have had to face themself. They realize all the things I’ve trusted in sand. I need something that will be a rock and an anchor Jesus. And his name is Jesus Christ. Amen.

Speaker 8 (28:53):
Amen. Well, if you’re burning, like my friend is here, then I want you to sign up again, go to join ge.org and sign up and join with us. We’re gonna see God do some amazing things right in the I’m very excited to let you know that we’re getting ready to see a video from our global evangelist Alliance. Co-Chair Daniel Kalinda head of Christ for all nations. He’s joining us by video today. And so after Daniel, we’re gonna hear from another group of our executive committee members. They’re gonna be sharing with you while they’re so excited about what God is doing with the GE,

Speaker 14 (29:35):
Hey, everybody, Daniel calend here. And I am so excited because guys today is a really exciting day. This is almost three years in the making. Now we have been working behind the scenes and preparing for you the launch of the global evangelist Alliance, which I believe God is gonna use to see one of the greatest harvest of souls, maybe the greatest movement in evangelism, in history as being launched right now. And we’re inviting you to be a part of it. And you know, we’ve already seen so many of the top generals of evangelism in the world coming together, locking their shields together, combining their efforts and their voices to prepare this platform, not for them, but for you. Ordinary believers spread all over the world that have a passion and a desire to see their cities and their nations. One for Jesus. I believe this is the finest hour for evangelism in the history of the world.

Speaker 14 (30:31):
Now you might say, Daniel, what is the global evangelist Alliance all about? Well, dream with me for a moment. Imagine having the ability to connect quickly and easily with evangelists from all over the world, to collaborate with them, to reach different places like, like we are actually working to have right now, local representation in every city on the planet. That means any place that you have a burden for any place where you want to be able to minister any place. God is calling you to, you are gonna have friends and co leagues and collaborators in that place. Also, we’re making all kinds of amazing ongoing training available for you. And we’re preparing opportunities for you to synergize and collaborate with other evangelists. Like for example, our yearly Congress that we’re offering to our members. It is a community that is literally spread around the world with men and women like you and me that have a heart for evangelism, fathers, and mothers in the faith and millions of ordinary believers that have a burden to reach the world for Jesus. If this sounds like something that you want to be a part of, then I want to encourage you to join the global evangelist Alliance today. I hope that I get to meet you very soon at one of our events, and we’re gonna see Jesus go horrified in the nations. The harvest brought in and the return of Christ ushered in, in our generation. Love you guys. God bless you.

Speaker 21 (31:50):
Hi, Kevin Pau here, president of the Louis Pau association here in Portland, Oregon. I’m so excited to be part of the global evangelist Alliance and to see this dream fulfilled of thousands of evangelists from all parts of the world, world, working together to fulfill the great commission.

Speaker 13 (32:06):
What I love about getting together with all of the people with GE is finding out what is going on in the world. We have to connect. We have to be a part of what is happening with everybody else, encouraging everyone else to win this lost world Jesus. And when we get that heartbeat of God, we cannot help, but tell this world how much Jesus loved them and died for them.

Speaker 25 (32:34):
It’s a new era of evangelism. And in order for us to reach everyone everywhere, we have to lay aside our logos and our egos and focus really on the importance of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ for those in great need.

Speaker 15 (32:47):
God has raised GE as a place for us to be, if you are an evangelist, join us in GE a place where you’ll be trained coed. We will strategize together. We’ll plan together, how to reach this cogniti and the rest of the world for Jesus Christ.

Speaker 10 (33:06):
The GA offers so much, there is training online. There’s hands on experience. There’s opportunity for you to get connected with other evangelists. You know, there’s something that happens when you’re connected to people are passionate about seeing the loss save and making disciples. When you are a part of this, you’re a part of a community. And I wanna encourage you to get connected. Let’s reach the loss together. It’s harvest time.

Speaker 8 (33:37):
Well, we’re back here in our studio and I’m super excited to be with two very good friends of mine. Siegfried Thomas Shefsky and Dr. Daniel King, you know, one of the things, any good fisherman will tell you is that if you have a hole in the net, it doesn’t matter how many fish you catch. They’re gonna swim right on out. And so one of the things that we have to do, I believe if we’re gonna reach every person on earth for Jesus, we’ve gotta have some really strong nets. That means we’ve gotta have some, some things in place that help people become better at reaching their friends and family and neighbors and reaching the lost for Jesus. And so we’re here today with Siegfried. He is our director of the global evangelist Alliance. He is helping us put all of this together behind the scenes. And we’re gonna have him talk for just a moment about some of the great things that you get to experience when you join GE. So Siegfried, why don’t you tell us a little bit about some of the benefits of being a part of the global evangelist Alliance?

Speaker 26 (34:37):
Yes. First of all, let me tell you for an evangelist, it’s the hardest to sit on this chair and talk about GE that’s right, because I believe GE is the culmination of my own life and ministry. I’ve been traveling around the world over 90 countries. But what I see here happening today is just mind blowing reason. Number one we have been traveling throughout the world. We have the target groups north Africa. Now this year, may we are having 20,000 evangelists going out in all over the continent of Africa. But with GE, we are connecting evangelists from every country, every nation, every city of the globe. And, and I, I don’t know but about you, but I’m for the first time we are standing together. You’re talking about the net and I, I see not only one net right now, there are so many nets all over the world, but it seems to me like the holy spirit is noting all, or kniting all those nets together to one major network. And this is just, just something that I’ve never even dreamed about. It’s not about anymore about denomination. We have seen Louis Palao African enterprise. It’s not about denomination. It’s about salvation.

Speaker 8 (35:55):
That’s right. That’s not about denomination, but about salvation. So one of the things I’m super excited about, I’m a bit of a, a techy kind of nerd guy. Sometimes when you’re part of GE, you’re going to be able to go in and actually see where the evangelists are located all over the world. So if you want to go do ministry in E Ethiopia, you’ll be able to connect with people who are already on the ground there in Ethiopia doing ministry and collaborate with them. Is that right? Yes.

Speaker 26 (36:24):
Yes, exactly. You know, in the previous years, people called me, said, I just come back from this city. We had a groove, wonderful crusade. Two weeks later, somebody else called me, pray for me. We are going to that same city. I said, that’s wonderful. Why don’t you talk to one another? And, and what I see here today, number one, every member of the global evangelist Alliance puts in all his details, his information. So we know exactly where the evangelist is located. Number two, they put in their crusades, their campaigns, their school events, them marketplace outreaches, every event that you, as an evangelist are having you put in there. And we have a global map so everyone can see what’s going on. Where at, when, what a time. So we can sit together. Not only that we see what’s happening, but here comes the most important point to me. Now, for the first time we see areas, what I call white areas, where nothing is happening. We can strategize sit together. We are connecting with the largest prayer movements in the world with the unreached people, groups, with the church apostolic networks, with the church planting networks. So the evangelistic network is kind of gearing and steering it. And we go into areas and we see and cover those areas. You sat in the beginning, beginning that by the year 2033, every city will have a responsible evangelist covering every city in every place.

Speaker 8 (37:48):
That’s an awesome vision. I believe that could happen, but in order for that to happen, we need you to sign up. So go to join ge.org. One of the other things I’m excited about with the GE is the training that’s available to you. When you join GE, we have Dr. Daniel King with us. Dan Daniel is a, a powerful evangelist, but he’s also a scholar a, a, a man of, of books and learning. And so he’s developed a GA masterclass that he wants to tell us about.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (38:15):
Yeah. He graduated from oral Roberts university where your father is the president’s there. Yep. And such an instrumental part in helping to put the GE together. I think that the evangelism masterclass is one of the biggest benefits of joining the GE. When I was a young evangelist, I, I, I first wanted to learn about evangelism and I started looking for resources on, on how to be an effective evangelist. And I, I didn’t find anything that I could really learn from. And I spent thousands and thousands of dollars traveling to different parts of the world to meet with evangelists and just sit with them for a few minutes and ask them some questions. And I realized that people that want to be evangelists, they wanna be used by God to lead people to Jesus. They, they needed the resources to help them to become effective at sharing their faith with others.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (39:10):
Yeah. And so we took some of the greatest evangelists in the world today, put them in a studio and they recorded all of their wisdom, their mentorship, their holy spirit impartation. It comes through the camera and we put it together into an evangelism masterclass. And we actually have two classes. One is a class for every believer to learn how, how to share their faith with others. And then we have a specialized class for those who are called to the office of the evangelist. And so if you’ll go to join ge.org today, once you join, you gain access to those evangelism master classes and, and listen to some of the teachers that we have. We have Daniel Kalinda, the successor of Reinhard bunker. We have Nathan Morris, we’re sitting here in his studio. He’s full of the holy spirit. We’ve got Todd white, Michael cuanas. We’ve got Nick hall, Kevin Pau, Andrew Pau, Jerry Hill, Donna Schach and a bunch of other great evangelists who are full of holy spirit fire. And so as you watch the evangelism masterclass, you are going to receive mentorship from these great evangelists. You’re gonna receive the impartation of the holy spirit, and it will be a blessing to you. And, and so if you wanna partake in those classes, go to join ge.org today and be a part of what God is doing.

Speaker 8 (40:39):
Yeah, man, that’s so exciting. Again, if you’re there sitting on your couch, I can remember being a young man stirred to reach people for Jesus. I would’ve loved to have had something like this at my disposal right there. So go to join ga.org, sign up, and you can get access to these evangelism master classes, to a wealth of mentorship, knowledge and importation that you’re not gonna get anywhere else. Well, we’re privileged today to having the studio with us a great worship leader, Eddie James. He leads worship in crusades, huge crusades in Africa. Yeah, go ahead. Give him a head. He leads, worship a huge crusades in Africa, churches all over the world. And he’s here today to lead us in a moment of worship. As we experience the presence of God together, take it away. Eddie,

Speaker 27 (41:27):
Come on, put your hands together. If you are in love with Jesus, the name of Jesus is lifted high all over the earth. Come on, let’s have some holy ghost Tre for a moment. Put your hands together. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, the message of the cross and the blood forgiveness, and a second chance. And we need to get it out there and we need to finish the great commission of Jesus Christ, right? Reaching the unreached people, groups, and the towns and cities that I’ve never heard. And we need a platform somewhere to collaborate, find partnership you know, find others to join hands with and pray together with. And I got good news for you. It’s there. Speaker 25 (47:41):
All of us as evangelists need encouragement. We need to find around the world where people who have a like mind for the gospel are and how we can strengthen each other. How we can learn from each other’s graces. It’s gonna become a global community with one thing in mind, show the world, Jesus. It will be so glorious to be part of this because we will see so much of what God is doing in a bigger picture and how we can work together and find the best strategy to reach the world for Jesus. Speaker 28 (48:33):
We are a team of red hot spiritful evangelists intent on plundering hell and populating heaven become part of the family today.

Speaker 29 (48:43):
I believe that the gospel of Jesus is the greatest message on earth. He died on a cross out of lavender on the let’s reach the world with a gospel you’re evangels, join this movement, join GE and let’s stand together. Unless everybody has heard that Jesus is alive.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (49:09):
Thanks so much for listening to the evangelism podcast. I am excited about telling people about Jesus and we could not preach the gospel without your help. Dr. Jim Burkett is an apologist on fire for Jesus on today’s program. We’re gonna be talking about the intersection between apologetics and evangelism. You’re going to learn why apologetics is so important. And you’re also going to learn some practical ways that you can defend your faith.

Evangelism Podcast Host (00:25):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast with Dr. Daniel King, where Daniel interviews, full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies, and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host, missionary and evangelist Danielle King.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:00):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus today. I have a very special guest, Dr. Jim Burkette. He is an expert in apologetics brother, Jim, thank you for being with me today.

Dr. Jim Burkett (01:18):
Well thank you for having me, and it’s very exciting to be with you and gosh, all the great things that God has and is doing through you and your family. And God’s using you to ignite a, a spiritual chain reaction through so many parts of the world. And I praise God for that.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:34):
Now I’ve had the opportunity to go to several of your meetings here in the Tulsa area at different churches, where you were talking about apologetics, and you are really passionate about equipping the body of Christ to defend their faith through the use of apologetics. Why is apologetics so important to you?

Dr. Jim Burkett (01:58):
That’s a great question. You know, I receive the Lord Jesus watching Billy Gray am on TV back in the ninth grade, and didn’t grow up in a Christian family. And eventually the Lord called me into the ministry when I was a senior in high school, went to our denominational university. And my junior year, I just about lost my faith in a Christian university. And it got to the point where I’m, I’m preaching almost every weekend in a revival, but gosh, I thought if have all these doubts. So I prayed the agnostics prayer, which basically is, I don’t know if God, if you’re really there or, or if I’m am I speaking to air. So I really said, God, if you’re there, I need an intellectual stake, something that is immovable and meant that if I didn’t get any answers by the end of the semester, well, I’m changing universities.

Dr. Jim Burkett (02:49):
I’m changing my major. So two nights later to ask God to gimme an intellectual stake, two nights later, I’m at our university library. Why am I at the university library? Cuz I had a term paper due the next morning and I thought I should start on it. I had the gift of procrastination, some have said, but as I was going through the periodical section, I see this magazine called Christianity today. And as I stopped looked at it, I was stunned to see that the lead article was the historical evidence for the resurrection Jesus Christ ice. And I thought this is probably written by a pastor or a missionary or a theologian. I was stunned to find out that it was written by the, the Dean of the law college at the university of London, who was also the director for advanced legal studies and considered one of the world’s leading authorities on evidence.

Dr. Jim Burkett (03:36):
Then I found out it was not even an article. It was a trans of an address he gave to the Harvard Christian university fellowship. And I was stunned because Dr. Anderson basically says, I’m gonna act like an attorney and we’re just gonna follow the evidence where it goes. We’re gonna look at the betrayal, the trial the crucifixion and the purported resurrection, Jesus Christ. So all of a sudden he’s quoting this scholar and he’s quoting up that philosopher, he’s quoting this historian, then I’m going, why haven’t I heard about this in my own class, in my own courses, I’m a theology major, never heard of any of this. And the next last paragraph, he basically said this, the only conclusion we could come to on the basis of the evidence is that somehow some way Jesus of Nazareth came back from the dead in history.

Dr. Jim Burkett (04:22):
And that’s when I heard that sh that, that, that intellectual stake. So I tell people, I met the Lord when I was 14, but apologetic saved my faith when I was 21. So that’s why I have such a passion because I’m finding out the great majority of Christians Lisa ones, I come in contact with if you ask ’em, why are you a Christian? Many times they trace it back to their family, or they trace it back to you know, certain relationships, but most do not give a rational reason why they put their trust in Jesus Christ. And yet Jesus used the first 40 days of his post resurrection, pre Pentecostal ministry doing apologetics and giving rational reasons and, and demonstrating

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:12):
Giving convincing proofs that he really was alive.

Dr. Jim Burkett (05:15):
And that word convincing proofs don’t mean to interrupt you here in the Greek is tech Maria, which always means when it’s used, whether it’s in the Bible or other Greek sources, it means what’s being shared, being reported. What’s being demonstrated can be factually seen or factually seen to be absolute factual and true. So what Jesus do for 40 days, I say he did apologetics, which of course impact the disciples. I tell my classes, Hey, was it, was it the faith of the disciples that produced the resurrection of Jesus? Or was it the resurrection of Jesus that produced the faith in the disciples?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:54):
I am first in evangelist and then have a curiosity in apologetics. My, my calling is to, to bring people to Jesus and, and in a quest to do that, I recently wrote a book called proof. God is real. And this came out of a church. I was ministering at, in Missouri. A mother came up to me and she was crying. She says, could you please pray for my son? And I thought maybe her son was sick or something. And so I said, what does he need prayer for? And she said, he’s grew up in church. He served God his whole life, but he got a whole of some atheist books. And now he says, he’s an atheist. And he has rejected all the story of Jonah and David and Goliath that he learned in Sunday school as a kid, she said, could you please pray for him?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:43):
So I grabbed her by the hand, we prayed for him. And then I said, give me his phone number. And I called him the next day. And we talked for a while and he had lots of, of questions and objections to Christianity. And to be honest, I didn’t know how to answer all the questions. So I, I started to study the, the works of, of great apologi and look for the answers. And out of that study came this book prove God is real. And in this book, I give the reasons why I believe that God really is real, that we can prove that God is real, beyond a reasonable, bold out. He is alive. He lives today. And so, as I was setting this, I, I came across your lectures on, on several occasions and learned a lot from you. But I, I, I found that, I think that apologetics is really vital to the process of evangelism. What do you think is the, the connection between evangelism and apologetics? Why, why are both important?

Dr. Jim Burkett (07:49):
Kind of a prelude to that? I tell, I tell whether it’s in a workshop or whether it’s in a class or whether it’s apologetics revival, I tell them there are four question that every Christian needs to be able to answer in the affirmative because he knows it’s factually true. Number one, does truth exist as objective truth exists. This is such a serious issue in our culture as you well know, because the the word of the year for the Oxford university dictionary in 2016 was, was P host truth basically means coming to conclusions on the basis of emotional impressions. So I tell them that Hey, if you don’t believe in objective truth, you can’t do science. You can’t do engineering, you can’t do technology. And so forth. Number two does God exist. And I, as I just happen to notice, and then there’s so many works out.

Dr. Jim Burkett (08:37):
Now, the, the confirmation of God’s exists since is literally overwhelming. And so that’s why I appreciate pastoring 34 years in university communities and, and having grad students and professors and so forth. Matter of fact one of my friends when I pastored in Athens, Georgia, our church was across street from university of Georgia. He, his special was quantum chemistry, which I had no idea what that was. And but I found out he was a devoted Christian. I looked at him and said Dr. Shaffer, tell me, how is it you as one of the great intellects of the world? How did you, how did you come to God? And, and he started laughing, says, well, God has a sense of self has a sense of humor. I said I thought, gosh, did I hear the wrong thing?

Dr. Jim Burkett (09:21):
And he said well, when I was on the, on the faculty at Berkeley, California, that stunned me, Berkeley is not oral Roberts university or John Brown university, long story short. He said I kept bumping into some of my colleagues. They were some of the best in their discipline, but they were also committed Christian. So I would ask them how’s this. So how, how, how, how did you mess this together from that standpoint? And they all looked at me and they said their discipline showed them. First of all, that Darwinian evolution cannot be scientifically supported. It just doesn’t happen. But number two, they challenge to me go and disprove the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And Shaefer said, so I thought, well, that’ll be easy. I’m very analytical and so forth. Long story short Shaefer said he spent two years. He, he looked at every possible way. And finally he came to the realization. He said it was not just, I was not just convinced. I was compelled intellectually to lies somehow some way Jesus, as Evangel came back from the dead and then he started laughing and he said, you know, Jim, anytime a dead man comes back from the dead. He kind of puts him in a class by himself. So,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:28):
And you should probably listen to what he has to say.

Dr. Jim Burkett (10:30):
So the third question is do miracles happen? And of course oh my goodness industry is a living demonstration of this and, and other people. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:40):
We’ve seen God do many great miracles. Oh, all over the world.

Dr. Jim Burkett (10:44):
And then the fourth question I said is the Bible historically reliable? So I, I tell folks when you answer these four questions, one of the things that will happen, you’ll see the first result is that all of a sudden ignite something in you, excuse me, you begin to realize, oh my goodness this is true. Christianity is fact a factual faith. The second result of apologetics is it will build, it will provide you a bridge to non-Christian to answer the questions. Many of people, they, they have such misrepresentations in their mind about the de to Christ and the Bible, and so and so forth. And then third apologetics impacts culture. Now, how does that relate to evangelism? Oh my goodness. Wanna tell you a quick story. Professor Dr. Gentry, when I was working on the faculty with a a school in Bartlesville he came and he was speaking at to the to the professors.

Dr. Jim Burkett (11:46):
And he said, now I had a class in a small college in Kansas. And everyone in the class were ministry majors and they were going into the ministry. So I took a survey and the class was of evangelism and Christian apologetics. So I took a survey the first day, and I wanted to find out how many of you are actively sharing your faith. Second question is, if you’re not sharing your faith, why not? He was stunned to find out well over or 90%, 95% were not sharing their faith on a regular basis. Second question, why not? If you’re not. And he was stunned because the great majority of ’em said, I’m afraid somebody who asked me a question that I don’t have the answer. And, and number two, I’m not sure Christianity is true. So the next 16 weeks he focused on apologetics.

Dr. Jim Burkett (12:35):
He said, I, he said, I could see a very perceptible change in attitude in heart. And he said, by the end of the semester, I gave the same survey. Now, instead of 95% saying, I don’t share my faith, or I don’t know if Christianity’s true. He said, it was just like it reversed. Now they were sharing their faith on a reg their basis. Now they believe that Christianity was true based on the facts. And then six weeks later, he asked a follow up. He had a follow up survey. They were not just stagnant. They were continuing to grow in the Lord because when you know, that’s true, you really, it really hits you in your mind and your heart that lends right into evangelism you. And that’s why I tell folks if you are involved in a, an apologetics methodology that just tries to make you an intellectual egghead and it doesn’t flow into practical theology, evangelism, discipleship, and so forth. Then you look in the Bible and you just don’t see that kind of connection. Apologetics always brings you to the play where you’re ready to proclaim and minister. I hope that makes sense. What I said.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:39):
Yeah. Another really important use of apologetics is preparing young people to defend their faith. Oh, yes. I think sometimes young people, they, they, they grow up in the church and, and they believe the by Bible cuz their parents told them to believe the Bible, but then they go to college in the first philosophy professor that they run into or, or atheist that they run into manages to convince them that you’re an idiot if you believe the Bible. Yeah. And, and we need to prepare people, really inoculate them again. This attack of the devil that comes after people’s minds. Yes. And so by using apologetics and training apologetics during the teenage years, we can prepare young people to go out into the world and defend their faith and, and live for Christ.

Dr. Jim Burkett (14:34):
Amen. Matter of fact, you touched on two points. One is you’re absolutely right. I’m sure you’ve seen some of the surveys. I think I’ve looked at least 30, which basically they wanted to find out why were quote unquote Christian Church kids leaving the faith, the great majority of them. And so they were saying, and the average percentage was 75%, some as high as 80, 85%. Even one survey by the director for America’s research group. He, he was shocked because they wanted to find out why were they leaving the Christian faith? They got the normal answers, but they were shocked by when they were leaving in their heart and mind. He said 45% of church kids between the ages of 12 and 14. They start leaving the Christian faith by the time they reach the ninth grade and then the another 45% by the time they’re seniors.

Dr. Jim Burkett (15:29):
But on the other hand, as, as that stat is, I was sharing with a bunch of with a group of youth pastors. I was sharing these stats and you could just, you know, you could see ’em slouching down. What are we ever gonna do? Yeah. So I said, would you like to hear some good news and two or three of ’em said yes, please, please. And so I said, couple of surveys have come out. And it’s very interesting. The, this one survey in particular said if pastors and church leaders actually understand, and they are mentally grip with the realization, we’re not in a spiritual war because that’s what we’re supposed to say. They see it, they see it in our culture. They see what our kids are being bombarded by. They see it with the announcements, they see that it’s no longer a political issue. This is a spiritual warfare between, you know, evil and righteousness. And, and then those leaders take the steps to equip their young people. Keyword equip their young people logically through a biblical worldview based on the facts of apologetics 90% plus will go on with God. Oh my goodness. I’m thinking

Speaker 5 (16:45):
That is good

Dr. Jim Burkett (16:46):
News. It, it, it is. And this is what this is. I’ll be honest with you. This is what vexes me. I, I was, I was at a conference. It was a youth evangelism conference for training. I was asked to do three breakout sessions on apologetics. And, and so they put me in this auditorium that seated 7,000 people. We didn’t have 7,000 there, but it was the largest one they could have for the conference. And so did three sessions afterwards. I I’m on this platform and I have one of the, the leaders of the conference. And I know him and we’re good friends. And, and I said, you know, every summer this auditorium is filled up with 7,000 teenager. Every summer, they’ll be close to 50,000 teenagers from our you know, our, our denominational fellowship that will come here. And you at the stats from our own publishing and research indicate 75% plus of them will leave the Christian faith. What are we doing to change that now? Here’s and I’m, I’m not complaining. I’m just explaining what grieved me was. There was no answer. And this is why apologetics is such a necessity. This is why I can’t tell you how I, how excited I am that you’re not only prepared to give an answer, but you’re prepared to equip Christian leaders to do the same. I hope that made sense. What I shared.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:08):
Thank you. Let’s talk about the Bible. How can we know that the Bible really is true and that it’s the word of God.

Dr. Jim Burkett (18:18):
That’s a great answer. Matter of fact that’s one of the key issues I really try to, to hit on. The thing I try to, to deal with first, if I’m dealing with a non-Christian, I try to bring him or her to the place of realizing that the Bible is the most reliable historical document from, from antiquity. I start there because if I begin to try to talk to them about you know, it is the word of God is, well, they they’ve been old that anyone who believes the Bible’s the word of God, their faith is like wishful thinking. So what I do is I begin to share some of the key qualities, for example, I share with them that we can say now that we have 99.9% of what the original old new Testament actually said, and why, why can we do that?

Dr. Jim Burkett (19:13):
Because we have copies, manuscript, copies, both the old and new Testament, like just the new Testament alone. I know you’ve probably heard this, but if we were to bring them together, those copies we are looking at almost 30,000 copies show oh my goodness. Th this is what, this is what the original said. Dan Wallace, who is a professor at Dallas theological seminary said if we were to go to every library, every seminary, every museum, and we were able to get the new Testament copies of the originals. And he said, if we were to actually physically them on top of one another, he said that stack would be a mile high. Now I’m, I’m stunned by that,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:58):
But that’s a phenomenal number of manuscripts. And using those manuscripts, we can establish very clearly what the original manuscripts. Oh,

Dr. Jim Burkett (20:10):
Exactly. And, and then by, by the way, we haven’t even talked about the old Testament manuscripts. And you said, you get the old Testament manuscripts put on top of the new Testament manuscripts. Now that pile is not just a mile high. Now it’s two and a half miles high. And so the, the odds are so astronomical. That’s why I really appreciate the, the statement that Dr. AE Wilder Smith made three earned doctorates great scientists to spoke seven languages he’s in heaven now, but he said the thing that that I noticed is that when Christians, or even particularly non-Christians or agnostics or atheists say, well, you really can’t trust the Bible. He said, what I’ve noticed is that those scientists, those agnostics who actually search the scripture and look for the evidences, and then they come to the realization, this is not just a ordinary book.

Dr. Jim Burkett (21:03):
And so that’s why I, I tell a lot of, of a lot of skeptics. Well, listen, let’s sit down and show me, what’s the evidences that you have. And of course, we haven’t even talked about the prophetic, oh my goodness, 2000 plus prophecies. And the old Testament, the only ones not fulfilled are the second coming of Christ and the end of the age you you’ve got the prescience statements in the Bible. UHI McMillan. He wrote a book called none of these diseases. And he basically said, listen, the hygienic and medical principles that we see in the, in the fi first five books of Moses, he said, we know that it was God who told him there there’s nothing like in, in ancient history. And he said, it took modern science in the 20th century to verify those principles are medically sound and whoever follows them will have a healthy lifestyle. So you got statements like this over and over again.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:02):
Let’s talk about objective truth. How, how do we know that there really is objective truth. This is a big issue in our society right now. I think many people in our society are, are confused about,

Dr. Jim Burkett (22:16):
Oh

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:16):
Yeah, just very basic things like what is a man or a woman? I mean, that’s a, a very contentious issue right now. And, and, and it used to be that people would say objectively well that’s, and that’s a woman based on physical characteristics. And now they’re saying, no, you can’t say that anymore. And so even that objective scientific truth that’s in the DNA has in our society become a subjective truth, that you can be any gender or no gender at all that, that you want to be. And, and so God is a God of objective truth. How can we know what is objective truth?

Dr. Jim Burkett (22:57):
Well, that is you are right. That is a most significant question. I believe it’s a question that needs to be answered before we even asked as God exists, because you know, here, heres the evidences I have that God exists and somebody will try to deconstruct that. But the thing about truth, objective truth always relates to reality. It can always be, it can always be discovered and examined. And when people ask me particularly parents, what do I say to my young people? I tell them you have one of the strongest allies besides the holy spirit and that, and, and the ally are the allies happen to be called facts. And so that’s why when I start sharing I, I, I, I start, first of all we, we ask that question then when I get, does God exist? Oh my goodness Daniel, I’m telling you, it, it amazes me.

Dr. Jim Burkett (23:59):
I mean, a new book just came out called the return of the God hypothesis by Steven Meyer. This is one of our top scholars and he talks about three three discoveries in science. He said, even agnostics and atheists has to knowledge these discoveries. And he said all of a sudden, they can’t say well, the university of eternal science won’t lap them. And when you begin to extrapolate that in other areas historically like you know, liberal archeologists used to say, you can’t trust the, the history in both the old new Testament. And then what happens here, come these archeologists with their spate. Oh my goodness. Like sir, William Ramsey he was taught that the go gospel of Luke and the book of acts cannot be trusted. So he decided he was going to further that discovery. So he was very disappointed because he wasn’t finding what he was looking for long story short when he began to look at the archeological evidence for both the gospel of Luke, as well as the book of acts.

Dr. Jim Burkett (25:04):
He said every, every place every inscription concerning Luke or ax, he found out Luke and ax were always historically accurate to the point that he said there was never any mistake. And he it’s so convinced him well, if the Bible is historically accurate, it must be accurate spiritually. And he shocked his colleagues by putting his faith in Jesus Christ. When you match that with other discoveries. Oh my goodness. Used to be by 19 1958, we had over 25,000 archeological sites and discoveries. I honestly don’t know what it is now. It has to be well over 50,000. And, and that’s why we say to, to the agnostic and atheists. Okay. You know, it was not it was not the vice president came up this phrase, we’ve heard this for years, but you’re entitled to your opinion, but you’re not entitled to your facts. And that’s why several leading archeologists, some of ’em are not even Christians, they’re Jewish, but they basically said there has never, ever please let me please hear me. There has never, ever been an archeological discovery that has contradicted the Hyster of the old or the new Testament. That’s staggering. That’s absolutely staggering.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (26:26):
And if the Bible can be trusted in the places where we can test it archeologically, or historically, then that means it can also be trusted in areas that we maybe haven’t discovered the evidence yet. We can know that we trust those areas. So let’s talk about the word fact. You said we have lots of facts that back up the Christian worldview, and of course, facts are very important to atheists. They, they often say, show me the evidence where where’s the evidence. Do you have evidence for God? Can you, can you touch? ’em Take and feel him weigh him in a laboratory reproduce miracles in a laboratory setting. And so they’re looking for facts. They’re looking for evidence. What are some of the facts that could lead someone who has a scientific viewpoint to the idea that there really is a God

Dr. Jim Burkett (27:20):
That’s, that’s an excellent question. By fact I share, and this is part of our equipping phase. We say the very first thing you’ve got to understand when you talk to somebody, whether it’s a Christian that has doubts or an athe agnostic, you must define your terms. You must, you must let them know you’re defining terms. That match reality. So when we talk about facts, we’re talking about those propositions or those statements, which match the reality of what’s being shared. Like you mentioned gender, you know, I think most people know there’s a difference between a male and a female. I remember a Rick Warren was asked by a TV interviewer Larry King and kind of the same question he says, well, why can’t people basically just determine who they are and, and and how can they show the difference?

Dr. Jim Burkett (28:20):
And, and now this is Rick Warren. He wasn’t trying to be obscene or anything like this, but he said, well, I think we could show you a difference where there are some facts not determined by the people he said you put a naked man and naked woman next to each other, and you see there’s a difference and it’s not based on their feelings. It’s the same way in terms of laws, pH physical loss there’s gravity, there’s all the fine tuning issues that we look at. And, and we can’t say it’s something that’s guessing. It is a fact, matter of fact the fine tuning issue. Again, it’s one of those things that’s overwhelming Daniel. I I’m telling you what I believe it’s

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:00):
Explain what fine tuning is. Okay.

Dr. Jim Burkett (29:03):
For example when we see a fine tuning Hugh Ross has made the comment there’s 102 variables about that we see in the universe, like if gravity was to just even 1% stronger or 1% less, the universe would not have expanded, would not have kept together. If certain elements were not completely, he balanced the way they were the same thing would happen, but he said these 122 variables. They’re so finely tuned that if, if you, if you had a universe creating machine and you took one dial, just one of the 122 variables, and you just kind of turn it maybe a half a degree, right. Or half degree left, it would collapse the entire universe or life would not be able to exist as we know it. And,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:55):
And the odds of a universe existing where human can exist are so astronomically enormous to be impossible. It just small minute changes in any one of these fine tuning elements would make it impossible for us to exist. And, and the fact that we do exist is really strong evidence that someone tuned these different elements and set everything perfectly so that we could exist. Yeah. Matter fact, it’s not by chance if it was by chance, it, it couldn’t happen.

Dr. Jim Burkett (30:33):
That’s right. Matter of fact, there was one agnostic who I don’t know if he’s come to God or Christ yet, but he, he said, every time I look at the the variables, I, he said, it’s almost like some, some superior mind has monkeyed with the with the facts or with the

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (30:51):
Creation this superior mind we call God.

Dr. Jim Burkett (30:53):
Yes, yes. Now there’s a, there’s a great story. When we talk about facts, here’s what I hope Christians understand and insists. You not know all the answers, but if you can, if you can put in someone’s hand kind of a, a bridge to the facts, for example, I dunno if you heard of vio Osen and he was considered the youngest medical student to ever graduate. And so when he was working as a, you know, in his research years he and his wife they weren’t accosted, but her parents became radical Christians. And so when the parents came up to where he was doing his residency they said, we really want you to go to church. We want you to stay this out. And so to just get them to, to leave them alone, they say, okay, listen, when I, when I don’t have a Sunday, I’m not working, then we will go to church.

Dr. Jim Burkett (31:49):
And, and of course, when they got together he and his wife, they thought, well, we’ll just, we’ll just look at all the atheistic classics and study that. And they were, they were shocked because nothing everything was so shallow in his thinking. And then one Sunday morning that they were at this church, this young man he’s, I think he was like a, a, a junior in college. He comes up to them and he says, Hey, doc, I’ve got this book. I don’t have time to read it, but I think you’d enjoy it. And the book was titled something like the scientific enterprise and Christianity, and they were stunned because it was a book in which each chapter had a different scientist who had a PhD in a certain field that talked about how the evidence not only showed them the existence of God, but why Jesus Christ is the son of God. And it’s so impacted their lives that not only 12 months later, did they become Christians, but God led them to be medical missionaries for 35 years in Bangladesh. And matter of fact VI Osen even has a little booklet called the agnostic air to search. And so when people say, oh, listen no, I’m not gonna believe that. I just challenge ’em and say, well, listen, just disprove it. Just, just examine. Are, are you openminded enough to just look at what the evidence just might say,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (33:17):
According to the apostle Paul Christianity rises and falls based on the resurrection. In fact, he says that if Christ has not been resurrected, then your, your faith is in vain. And so that really is the core issue for Christianity. How can we know, know that Jesus really rose from the dead? How, how do we even know Jesus existed? Some atheists say there there’s, there was no Jesus. So how can we know that Jesus existed, that he really lived, that he was crucified and that he rose from the dead.

Dr. Jim Burkett (33:56):
Very good question again you know, it’s so comforting to have, have facts and God on your side because you know, when, when I hear somebody say, well, Jesus couldn’t have lived. I think it’s very interesting, even some of the most liberal quote unquote theologians that, that don’t claim be Christians have openly acknowledged the, that if there’s one thing, we can be certain of that Jesus Christ exists in history. Now what about the resurrection? Now? This is where it gets very interesting. I I’ll, I’ll take a different slant than I normally do, but Dr. Gary hemos, oh my goodness. He’s considered, as you know, the, world’s leading a thought on the history of the resurrection and when he was studying his PhD, matter of fact, he got his PhD studying the resurrection of Jesus from Michigan state university, which is not known as a seminary or a graduate school, long story short the chairman of his committee said, well, it can’t be a devotional study.

Dr. Jim Burkett (34:59):
It’s gotta be an analytical study and, and it’s gotta be 350 pages. So here’s what, here’s what Dr. Hyper miss did. He studied everything written on the resurrection in English, French and German, over a period of about 25 to 30 years. And here’s what he noticed. He noticed even atheist agnostics acknowledged that there were certain elements that even they had to agree with. One was the empty tomb and, and he was shocked. Even atheists now acknowledged the empty tomb. So he built off that and he, and he calls it the minimalist approach to the resurrection things like, okay, the empty tomb, you have eyewitness reports people can’t say, well, it’s mass hallucination because you can’t share somebody else’s hallucination with anybody else. The change in the disciples these men, they, they died for what they believe was truth.

Dr. Jim Burkett (35:56):
And plus there was no perks in declaring Jesus was the Lord of your life. Number two, the impact that it had on a radical opponent by the name of Saul of Tarsus, who became the great missionary, the apostle Paul, even the brother of Jesus James who also died for his faith and then the radical impact on culture. It’s very interesting that there’s a book in which the, the, the growth of the early church, Michael Green, British theologian made this comment. And he said, there’s three reasons why the early church exploded in growth. He said, the number one reason is persuasive apologetics and the ability to outthink her critics. That was the first thing about the church. Number two, the dramatic conversion of these pagans and how that filtered in compassion ministry. I mean, here, you had people, they didn’t care.

Dr. Jim Burkett (36:53):
I mean, if they had a baby that was born, they didn’t want it. Well, they would throw it away. They’d put on the Ashe, whatever, but they’d see these changes out of that compassion ministry. Some of the church fathers actually instituted the hospitals and so on and so forth. And then number three, the dramatic miracles, exorcisms, and prop prophecies, clearly from another realm, it was so impacting that historians have said even non-Christians most modern folks are not aware of the dramatic impact that Christianity had on any culture that allows the gospel to be released. And we see that not only in, in ancient history, but we see it, you know, down through church history. I dunno if that makes sense or not, but as you can tell, I have a low excitement level on these things. So anyway,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (37:49):
Yeah. Calm down a little bit. Yes. Right. Yeah. All these issues are covered in my book, proof. God is real. And if you want to help educate yourself or, or become more informed on how to defend your faith, I’d encourage you to get a copy of the book proof. God is real on Amazon. And Dr. Jim, you were kind enough to do a little blurb for the, for the front of it. And, and actually, I don’t know if you knew this, but, but I, I quote from the great scholar, Dr. Jim Burkett several times in this book I took notes and I, I was careful to give you credit for your ideas in there. Praise God,

Dr. Jim Burkett (38:33):
You are a wise man.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (38:35):
And, and so, so I really have a heart to, to reach atheists here in the United States. You know, we go over to different nations around the world and we’ll do large evangelistic crusades, big gatherings of people we’ll have 30 or 40, 50,000 people at a time. And they come and they, they see God do miracles and they give their lives to Jesus. I mean, we’ve had Muslims come to Jesus and Hindus and Buddhist, and, you know, but I, I have a heart for the, this atheist spirit that is attacking America right now. The atheists are, are very aggressive on YouTube and Twitter. Some of the other social media platforms a couple of years ago the, the American atheist came here to Oklahoma and had their, their conference, their yearly conference. What, what was really in, I, I went to the conference that the atheist had, and they had it in the same ballroom at a hotel in downtown Oklahoma city that I had been in once before the previous time I’d been, there was in a crusade planning meeting with Reinhard Bonnke.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (39:53):
Oh, wow. And the, the me with Reinhard Bonnke was full of pastors from all over Oklahoma. And he came and he said, Jesus saves people from their sins. All of a America shall be safe. That’s right. And there was just such an electricity and excitement in the room when Jesus was being talked about. And then I went to atheist conference in the same room and they all seemed depressed and bored and, and, and they were, were just angry. And I said, wow, Jesus really does make a difference in people’s lives. That’s right. And so I think as a church, we need to, to go after atheist, because really it’s a, it’s a spiritual condition. We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood that’s right. We are in a spiritual battle for the hearts and minds of America. And, and in order to reach people, we have to be ready to engage with them on social media, at the university level in schools, you know, for teenagers and in every level. And, and you are really leading that fight particularly here in Oklahoma. Tell me about some of the, the different programs and, and things that you do to help educate people in the area of apologetics.

Dr. Jim Burkett (41:18):
Well, you’ve hit the right button. You know, the, the admission statement of apologetics on fire is

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (41:27):
And that’s the name of your, your ministry apologetics on fire, on fire. And if you hadn’t thought of it, I would’ve taken it. Cuz that was a, that’s a great,

Dr. Jim Burkett (41:37):
Well, you can title, you can thank your friend and my friend, Dr. David Sheley for that title. You know, I can’t believe I, I was chairman of his board for 20 years and so forth, but you know, the, the thing about it is I, I go to most not most, but a lot of apologetics conferences. And here’s what I believe hits most layman and it’s this and, and the, and the evidence is overwhelming. Lee trouble said, this is like the golden age of apologetics in terms of information, but most people hear this and if there’s not a practical to it, they, they walk away feeling like, oh, goodness, I have to have a master’s degree or PhD, whereas that’s not the case apologetics, if it does not lead into practical theology, evangelism, discipleship impacting the kingdom then it, it short changes everything.

Dr. Jim Burkett (42:32):
So my, my heart is well, you talked about naming different ministries. Of course we have apologetics on fire workshops and ministries. I also teach at colleges and universities oil Roberts graduate school theology the global school of supernatural ministry up in Harrisburg. I’ve been at Oklahoma west in true at McConnell university and so on and so forth. You have those those areas, but then in our workshop I have a dream now I don’t know how I may look to you age wise, but I’m really a 50 year old man trapped into 75 year old body. So with that in mind I, I really believe and I know others that are looking at this, we need to mobilize, I mean, acts 19 is a favorite chapter of mine. And so what did Paul do?

Dr. Jim Burkett (43:24):
I mean, for at least two years, he trained you know, the disciples every day, they said in the school of Italian reus. And then it said in the next two years, all of Asia mine had heard the word of God and the church historians tell us it became a center for the spread of the gospel. And E E even ESUs I mean, it was so impacted by what happened that my friend, John Vaughn said that by the end of the first century, there were well over 30,000 Christians just in ESUs alone because are so dramatic. So what would happen if like you have ratio Christi, RA Christi, which they basically, it’s a, an apologetics evangelism group and they basically try to have chapters in universities and beginning high school, I think last count they had 160 chapters whoever sponsors it they have to have a little bit of training and apologetics, and then the students come together and the idea is not just to come and sing kumbaya, but it’s the idea to learn how to grow in the Lord, how to share their faith.

Dr. Jim Burkett (44:29):
How do you answer the questions that maybe that science professor is an agnostic atheist you know puts out there? You’ve got so many great ministries, Jay Warner, Wallace. Oh my goodness. Here’s

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (44:43):
Cold case Christianity. Great. Yes. Book and great ministry.

Dr. Jim Burkett (44:46):
Definitely. I mean, former atheistic police investigator his his procedures on investigating cold case crimes was so significant that they say his procedures as they are shown on 48 hours and, and Fox news are continued the high marks. And when he came to Christ he was challenged, well, use your, for forensic skills to disprove Christianity. He couldn’t, and now he’s probably one of the most prominent, of course you have Lee Strobel. You’ve got to Josh, Maddo his son, Sean McDowell. There’s so many in the, in the science arena, of course. You’ve got John Lennox. Now this guy bless his heart. He only has three doctorates. And he’s a Welchman and, and, and what’s interesting is he is so gracious that I’ve read where atheists don’t like to debate him. And he’s not, he’s not mean he just, but he just puts the facts out there in such a, a, a winsome way. Of course you have a William Lane, Craig JP, Moreland’s one of my favorites. He’s just come out with a book called a simple guide to miracles. He, oh, he’s tremendous. There are just so many that are really coming up. And then we’ve got a, a younger group that are really beginning to come to the surface, but my prayer is,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (46:09):
Have you heard of Dr. Daniel King? He’s one of my favorites. Listen, he’s my wife’s favorite apologist.

Dr. Jim Burkett (46:16):
I, I heard that, I heard that was, you know, that was the word on the street. Matter of fact I’ve even, I’ve even prayed positively for him. So anyway, but well, you’re absolutely right. And here’s, here’s why I I’m appreciative that you you’ve focused in apologetics and that is you see it. I mean, really see it, believe it as being a, a crucial part of evangelism and connecting with our world, our nation and our world. I heard from a missionary, he said could we talk about your coming over an apologetics conference? And in our country, he said really? Why is that? He said, well, what’s happening on the American campuses are, is starting to hit here. And the old you know, the old ways where we just get up and preach the gospel. Now these college students, even here, I want to know how can I know that what you’re saying is true. So I’m so excited for the coming days of your ministry. God has, and is using you to ignite significant, significant spirit empowered motions and not motions, but movements of revival and an awakening. And I’m very excited for you.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:33):
Well, thank you. If a church wanted to invite you to come and do a, a multi-day workshop, or if a school wanted to invite you to come teach or do a seminar, how can they find out more information about you and your ministry? What, what’s your website?

Dr. Jim Burkett (47:51):
If you’ll go to apologizes on fire.com and then you can find a couple of emails or you can text me at the number and I’d be glad to come. Like like there’s one church it just so happens. I have eight wins days open. And so I’ll be meeting with them for two hours and we develop a certificate course, and most of the church want to go through a certificate course, which means they can audit. They can just come, but in the certificate course they come, they have a couple of books, they need to read, they have some assignments. And and there’s, there’s some universities that might even use that certificate and use it for college credit if they decide to transfer it. But churches we’re talking about conferences with groups of, of churches the key thing, and I just, I just can’t say this strong enough right now, you must, and I hope this comes across the right way.

Dr. Jim Burkett (48:54):
You must fight for the heart. And so, and the minds of your young people, this is not something that’s on the sideline. They’re dealing with issues that you, you, you cannot imagine most high school students will have, at least I, I understand. And it’s like 70 to 80% heard one that was 85% of them ha have some kind of involvement with science or technology. And yet most youth pastors, maybe they might have five to 8% of familiarity with that. And so what do a lot of church kids, unless you have apologetics, they think, well, you know, it’s just a generational thing. He does this because of this or that, but not because he’s staying relevant to the world. And I hope that made sense, but apologetics on fire.com and love to come to your fellowship or your church, your conference, and, and I’m an equal opportunity blesser in a term that whether it’s a, a Baptist Baptist decos, Pentecostals, charismatics and or

Sure. And, and so every single person has these different personality types and what techniques work with one person may not work of another person. And so by understanding human behavior and understanding human personality, you can be better at interacting with people, reaching them, ultimately leading them to Jesus. So let’s begin Erin by talking about DISC, what is DISC?

Aaron Antillon (02:25):
Well, DISC is a measurement tool that med that measures individual’s behavior. You know, we all have different capacities for different things. We’re wired a little bit different. Some of us are a little bit more outgoing when we wake up in the morning, the natural all wiring on the inside of us is that we have an inward motor and it sounds like this. Mm mm. You and I are wired that way. We’re fast paced while there’s others that are wired, that they’re more reserved. Their inward motor sounds like this. Mm. And when they get excited, it’ll peak. Mm. But then it comes back to a level. Mm. Now, you know, one is not better than the other. They’re just different. And when we look to effectively connect with others, the first thing that we identify is the individual that we’re looking to connect with. Are they more outgoing or are they more reserved? So outgoing individuals have big gestures. They talk fast. They move very quickly. While those that are more reserved are a little bit more slower paced.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:48):
And here I am, I’m thinking, come on, Aaron, let’s get to the point. Let’s go. Why are you going so slow? But you’re trying to connect with different personalities, different

Aaron Antillon (03:56):
Personalities. So the first identifier is, is the individual that we’re looking to connect with more outgoing or more reserved. I realize that in any situation, it depends on the environment, but we’re looking for the best version of the individual, the natural best in highest use. The second indicator that we identify is, is the individual that we’re looking to connect with more task oriented or more people oriented. That’s a bigger bent to where disconnect occurs. You see Daniel, if I’m more reserved and you’re more outgoing, only thing that you need to do in order to connect with me is to slow it down. And I would need to speed it up. That isn’t that big of a deal. It said that 10 to 20% of conflict occurs between those that are outgoing. And those that are more reserved, not that big of a deal, but the big disconnect occurs between those that are task oriented. That their mindset is about function, process, procedure,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:09):
Getting things done,

Aaron Antillon (05:10):
Getting things done.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:12):
We, and they don’t care if they steamroll or over people, as long as the task is completed.

Aaron Antillon (05:17):
You and I know leaders that that fits their personality style. They’re wired that way. You and I have the natural wiring that we are wired that way. I was just sharing with you that I was on a call with a leading expert in this field. And on my call, he’s wired to where he’s more people oriented, touchy, feely relationships, Aaron sharing. And I called him and I got straight to the point. Let’s talk about the result that we wanna get. And he asked me this question, Aaron, has anybody ever told you you’ve hurt my thinking? I was like, no, that’s ridiculous. Who would ever say that? He goes, what do they typically say? They typically say you’ve hurt my,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:05):
My feeling,

Aaron Antillon (06:06):
My feelings. And so here’s the thing, Daniel, everyone communicates. But very few people connect. The goal of communication is not to get your point across. The goal of communication is to effectively connect with the individual. If I’m more task oriented and driven to where I’m more high tech. And if you’re more people oriented to where it’s more high touch, I have to make necessary shifts in order to effectively connect with you. So the first indicator that we identify is is the individual more outgoing or reserved? The second one is, are they more task oriented or people oriented? If you were to draw a circle. And if you were to divide the circle in half horizontally on the top of your circle, you would write outgoing on the bottom of your circle. You would write reserved. Then if you were to divide the circle again in the middle vertically on the left hand side of the circle, you would put task on the right hand, you would put people. So now we have four quadrants. You see the picture, are you getting the picture? Yeah. So we have the upper left hand quadrant of being outgoing and task oriented. We have the upper right, right. Hand quadrant being outgoing. And people-oriented, we have the bottom right. Quadrant as reserve. And people-oriented is this, is this clear? Yeah. And then the bottom left part of the quadrant as reserved and task-oriented, you know, in any situ in any circumstance, we really are a blend of all four styles. But let me explain what these four styles look well

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:09):
Before we get into explaining, I’m sorry. I’m fine. Before we get into the, the, the explaining each of these different styles. Sure. Let, let’s talk a little bit about like, how has this impacted you? Because before we say, yeah, this is what this is. Let’s, let’s see how this impacted you and how this changed your life.

Aaron Antillon (08:26):
That’s that’s great. Thank you for bringing me back into into this perspective and because this is a great story because you and I have known each other for many years, you’ve known me.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:39):
We’ve been good friends. You’ve

Aaron Antillon (08:40):
Known whenever I was in this place of Discontentment you and I had conversations about this to where I did not understand why I was not functioning in my best in highest use, but I’m pastoring a church. I felt I was being obedient to God, but yet I had very minimal effectiveness in pastoring, a church. And I have high effectiveness in leading and developing leaders and doing business. And so at the age of 40, on my 40th birthday, I woke up with that heart of Discontentment and I walk over into our bathroom mirror and I look at myself in the mirror and I talk to myself, you know, Daniel, I truly be believe that self talk can be your greatest asset or your greatest weapon. What is it that you’re saying to yourself? I believe that if you wanna change your life, you change what it is that you say.

Aaron Antillon (09:47):
I believe that if you really want to change your life, you change what it is that you say to yourself. So I ask myself this question, and for the first time, I’m really diving into a deep place of reflection. Up until that moment, I had been running from that place of reflection, probably scared of what it is that I would see, but I asked myself this question. I said like this, Erin, if you continue going down the same path at the same pace, will you arrive at your desired destination? And with tears immediately streaming down my face. I answered myself and I said, no, but I knew that I had to do something different in order to different results. You know, Daniel, I wasn’t involved in sin, uncon sin. I wasn’t cheating on my wife. I wasn’t stealing from the church. I wasn’t doing things, taking drugs, drinking any of those things that we would think that would bring that Discontentment, there was a gap between where it was that I was presently at at, and where it was that I felt that God truly had designed and destined for me to go.

Aaron Antillon (11:05):
I did not know how to bridge that gap. I’ve had spiritual leaders that will say, well, weren’t you praying? I was praying every day. I was even praying in the spirit every day and I’m not discounting the power of prayer and praying in the spirit. I was in the word and confessing the word I was doing. All that I knew to do. And I was standing on God’s promises, but there was still that discontent. And that’s whenever I came into alignment with the disc model of human behavior, that really taught me a lot about myself. You know, I believe that the highest level of leadership is not a position or a title. I believe that the highest level of leadership is self leadership. And I begin to dive in deep into the disc model in order to really understand myself. So

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:59):
You began to understand what was going on with your personality, and then that helped you to understand other people’s personalities and how to, to use your personality and the best way to interact with others.

Aaron Antillon (12:12):
Honestly, I wasn’t even concerned so much about others at that

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:17):
Point, just understanding

Aaron Antillon (12:18):
Yourself. I was trying to really discover myself. You know, it said that the greatest day in a person’s life is whenever they’re born. The second greatest day is whenever they discover why I was trying to discover who Erin is, what is my true best and highest use. And it came through the discovery of the dis model and I began to learn why I’m wired and why I think, and why I feel the way that I do. And it all made sense. I remember I took an assessment, Daniel, the assessment was so accurate. It was scary.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:58):
Okay. So let’s, let’s jump into what each of these things, the D I S C stand for. Yes. And, and then let’s talk about your personality type and my personality type. And, and so you’ve you explained this four quadrants. Yes. And, and so tell us what each of these quadrants feel like people that are in each quadrant.

Aaron Antillon (13:24):
Okay. Now here’s the thing. DISC is not a model to model cap. Anybody. It’s not a model to put an excuse or a crutch. It’s an empowerment is to empower you to effectively lead yourself and to lead

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:39):
Others. And nothing’s wrong with one personality type or another personality type, every different type has its strengths and its weaknesses. And so with whatever your personality is, you can have great strengths. And of course, every personality type has its, its is too. But by understanding it, you can overcome some of the weaknesses and, and operate in your strengths.

Aaron Antillon (14:02):
Absolutely. Absolutely. So the outgoing task oriented individual, that is what we call the dominant style. That’s the D

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:11):
So the D is the outgoing task oriented. Yes. Person. Who’s one wants to get things done.

Aaron Antillon (14:17):
Yes. So the D stands for dominant. Now all four personality styles all have a blind spot and the blind spot for the dominant personality style is that they can be defiant Daniel, you and I have a lot of D in us. Have you ever can you attest to that, that in times?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:41):
Yeah. I, I mean, I have a very strong leadership personality and, and when my wife, Jessica and I were engaged to be married, we did counseling with pastor Greg Frazier in Warrenville Alberta, up in Canada. And he was, he was counseling us. And he said, as part of your counseling, I want you to both take the, the DISC personality test. So both me and Jessica, we went through the, the disc and I came out high D yeah. Which is very dominant. And what’s interesting is my wife also has Heidi usually opposites a track, but in our case we were attracted to each other cuz we liked what we saw in each other. And so I’m very leadership oriented. My wife, Jessica’s very leadership oriented and, and it’s great in some ways, because as long as we are headed in the same direction, we can take over the world.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:38):
Right? Like we can accomplish big things for God. We can do big crusades. We can raise a lot of money. Like we are task oriented. We’re like get stuff done. But if we’re headbutting, if we’re are coming at each other, man, two ramps, it’s fireworks. And, and yeah, it’s like two ramps coming together and then we don’t get anything done, you know, because you know, I I’m strong and she’s strong and it just butts heads. And, and so we have to work on that in our marriage. But having that understanding even before we got married, helped us to understand one another’s personalities. And, and so both of us have similar strengths. But we also have similar weaknesses too. Sure. Like the way we’re wired we’re we’re not super good at like counseling people through problems like of evangelists. Typically aren’t evangelists like are like, like you’re having problems with, with drugs. Well, just stop. It just don’t do it. Don’t go, you know, you know where, whereas like someone who’s more pastoral would say, oh, tell me about it. How did this happen? You know, what can we, and they’re very soft and, and calm and, and evangelists end to be like slap you upside of the back of the head and say get going. I don’t care how you feel. Let’s

Aaron Antillon (16:57):
Go, go and sit no more.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (17:00):
Yeah. Okay. So, so D is dominant. Talk about, I,

Aaron Antillon (17:04):
Well, let me share a couple of strengths. Yeah. With the D yeah. Some of the strengths are DS are, strong-willed just like what you said, we’re determined. Mm we’re independent. We’re optimistic. So typically DS use these strengths, but here’s a key point here. A key concept is that any strength pushed to an extreme becomes a weakness. That’s why I had said the blind spot for the dominant can be that they can be defiant. It’s a strength that’s pushed to an extreme, but let’s move on the outgoing people oriented individual. Do you see that within your own style? Can you, can you attest to that?

Aaron Antillon (17:56):
Going and then, okay. Okay. So the outgoing, people-oriented the word that describes the outgoing people-oriented individual is that they’re inspiring. These ind vigils are the life of the party. Now each of the four personality styles, we all have basic needs and the basic needs are different for each of the four. Whenever you’re looking to motivate, whenever you’re looking to empower each of the there’s different things that you need, the outgoing task or the dominant, they need challenges, choices in control. Maybe you have family members listener. Maybe you have family members that they’re dominant personality styles, and you’re telling them, come on, you have to get it done. You have to do it my way. See if you don’t give them challenges. If you don’t give them choices, if you don’t give them control, then there’s gonna be a continual budding of the heads. Well, what if these dominant individuals in my family are my children.

Aaron Antillon (19:08):
I’ll give you an example. I’m going back to the dominant just because I wanna share this story. My daughter Ashlyn that you’ve known since she was a couple, maybe two years old, Ashlyn’s a dominant personality style. She’s a lot like me so much like me, it’s scary. And so Ashlyn would always have an issue going to bed. And I would say, Ashlyn, you have to be in bed by 10 o’clock. Your lights have to be out. So she would have her lights out, but she would make it clear. She’s not asleep. She would say going to sleep before 11 is for the week. She would say that even whenever she was a little girl, five, six years old, she would say, I don’t take naps that’s for the week. And so when I learned about the model of human behavior, and I learned that dominant individuals, that they need challenges, choices, and control.

Aaron Antillon (20:00):
I changed my language with her and I said, Ashlyn, you can go to sleep whatever time that you want. As long as it is before nine o’clock, I’m giving her a choice, whatever time it is, you wanna go to sleep? She’s sharp. She’s not dumb. But she said, okay, and now she’s turning in. And now, because it’s her choice at what time? Why? Whenever you give dominant individuals, challenges, choices, and control. That’s a fuel, that’s a basic need. Just like fish need water. And we, human beings need air. They need challenges, choices and control. So I had to say that back, going back to the dominant, but now for the inspiring, the inspiring individuals, they’re the life of the party.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:55):
Yeah.

Aaron Antillon (20:56):
They’re the life of the party. They’re the party starters. You know what their basic needs are, approval recognition, popularity. If you have these individuals on your team, maybe in your church, maybe a part of your evangelism outreach team and you, and you would say, well, these individuals do not focus on the details. It’s because they’re not wired to focus on the details. They’re wired to be the party starter. They’re wired to keep everything going and keeping it fun. So empower them on your team to do those particular roles. What do you, what do you think, how do you feel about that Daniel?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:43):
Yeah. An evangelism team definitely needs that inspiring personality tight because they can gather people together. The evangelist wants to go out and gather as many people together. And, and so usually I, I think if you can have someone who’s a D who’s kind of leading the group and getting everything going, but then you get some eyes out there to say, Hey, let’s gather up. Everybody let’s have a party, let’s have a block, hard, let’s do something. And, and, and so it’s, there’s can really be good teamwork between people who have the vision, but then you need those people that are inspiring and, and really want to go out and, and, and relate to people.

Aaron Antillon (22:27):
You know, there’s strengths. The strengths of these individuals is that they’re friendly. They’re compassionate, they’re talkative, they’re enthusiastic. They make everything look bigger and better than what it really is. If you need your vision to be talked up, you share your vision with the inspiring style, because they’re gonna really talk up your vision, but you know, what can be the blind spot for these individuals

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (22:57):
That party never stops?

Aaron Antillon (22:58):
Well, they can be illogical exactly that the party never stops.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (23:03):
They’re joking around when someone’s trying to be serious.

Aaron Antillon (23:06):
They’re at the altar and the spirit of God is moving. They’re at the altar and they’re over here, Joe getting around and goofed off. That’s the illogical part. But an empowering leader understands how to effectively empower others to operate in their best and their highest use under control, their optimistic, how control their unrealistic under control their spontaneous, but out of control, they’re impulsive. What we really need in whatever style is our predominant style is that we need balance. Now realize this. We are a blend of all four personality styles based on whatever the demand is. But what we’re talking about at this point is our best and our highest use the way that we’re naturally wired. Because if you and I were to go to the game tonight, we’re probably gonna be in the role of an eye. Hey, let’s just have fun. Let’s enjoy life. We may not even talk about ministry and evangelism. We probably will, but we’re gonna talk about it while we’re having a lot of fun. Why? Because that’s the right environment. But in the best flow, in the best wiring, the inspiring style is involved is optimistic is persuasive. They’re the party starters for your team, even for your family. What do you think? How do you feel about that?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (24:46):
Yeah, we all love eyes. All right. Let’s talk about S the supportive part of this model of human behavior. What does an S do and how do they act?

Aaron Antillon (25:00):
Okay. Now I’m gonna change my tone. Okay. On the outgoing, because that’s the, D’s in the eyes. They’re fast paced. They’re upbeat.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (25:09):
Yeah.

Aaron Antillon (25:11):
On the S and the seed. They’re the reserve style. So I’m gonna change my tone. Speak a little bit softer.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (25:19):
Why are you speaking softer?

Aaron Antillon (25:21):
Because that’s what best connects with the supportive style.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (25:26):
So S stands for supportive

Aaron Antillon (25:29):
Support that they’re reserved, and they’re people oriented. Another word that S stands for is sweet. Look at here’s. Another one serve Stable, secure Their strengths. They can remain calm, even under pressure. They’re dependable. They’re very easygoing. They’re trustworthy. If we’re talking about ministry, I like to say it like this. The DS are the hands of the ministry. The are the mouth of the ministry. The SS are the hearts of the ministry, And the CS are the feet.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (26:26):
Okay. On the SS. What are some of the, the weaknesses?

Aaron Antillon (26:30):
The weaknesses is that they can lack initiative Under control. They’re relaxed, But out of control, they can lack initiative.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (26:43):
So they, they don’t go out and start something themselves.

Aaron Antillon (26:46):
They don’t start something themselves,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (26:47):
But they’re willing to follow someone who

Aaron Antillon (26:50):
They’re willing to support a vision. And they’re willing to support a vision long term as evangelists that are looking to build supporters and draw in supporters. These are the soft spoken heart to heart kind of talks that you’ll have with these individuals. And you would need to slow down your pace and talk one on one for, in the crowd in talking to them because they’re softhearted when they’re under control. But when they’re out of control, they can be easily manipulated under control. They’re great listeners, but out of control, they’ll stop communicating under control their system, but out of control, they can be slow. And I say the same thing. What we really need is balance. What we really need is balance the blind spot in this particular personality style is that they could be susceptible. They have a really, to of times saying, no, you know why? Because they have such a big heart because they do not want to offend anyone. You know, Daniel, I truly believe this everyone communicates, but very few people connect. If you were to raise your voice and say, I want this done, and I want this done. Now you can speak to me that way and I’ll get up and I’ll start moving and I’ll start looking and finding a way to get it done. But if you speak like that to a supportive style, what’s gonna happen is that they’re gonna up.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (28:48):
I’ve done that before her I’ve talked the wrong way to people. And they’ve gotten in very offended.

Aaron Antillon (28:55):
And you know, when I was pastoring and

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (28:56):
I was like, why we’re trying to get it done.

Aaron Antillon (28:59):
When I trying

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (28:59):
To get the test

Aaron Antillon (29:00):
Done, when I was wire me, I was sharing this with you. When I was pastoring. One of the things that I would say is we’re moving forward with, or without you,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:09):
People were like, okay, you are going without me. And then you’re wondering, where are all the

Aaron Antillon (29:13):
People I’m like, Lord, where are the people? Why did you send me UNC uncommitted people? They’re not UNC uncommitted. I was not effectively connecting with them. And I missed it. I missed, I believe that there’s well, meaning God called God anointed ministry leaders that have missed the connection that have MIS connecting with other leaders. You and I know some, you and I have been connected with others.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:48):
Yeah.

Aaron Antillon (29:49):
And they’ve hurt. They’ve hurt the people that God called to their ministry.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:56):
Unintentionally UN good

Aaron Antillon (29:57):
Intentions with great intentions,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (29:59):
But still not under are standing. How different personality types work. It, it just causes offense sometimes. All right. Let’s, let’s go to the last one. The C personality. What does C stand for?

Aaron Antillon (30:14):
Well, the C stands for cautious. The cautious style. Be careful. Be careful measure twice. Cut. Once the cautious style is both reserved in task oriented.

Aaron Antillon (30:30):
They’re cautious. Another word that describes the cautious, the sea style is that they’re competent. We see a lot of attorneys, a lot of doctors, you know doctors have been accused for having issues with their bedside manners. Well, they didn’t even ask me, how’s the family going, doing, but how would you like it? If the doctor engages in so much conversation that he says, now, what hip are we replacing? Are we taking out your heart or your longer your kidney? Cuz he is engaged in conversation. He’s focused on the task and he wants to be reserved. And he wants to measure twice. Cut once to make sure that it’s done accurately, specifically the blind spot for the cautious styles that they could be cold. Let me share with you the strengths because I like to focus on the positive side. The strengths is that they’re very gifted. They’re very analytical. They’re sensitive, they’re perfectionist. They deal with a high level of excellence Under control, their very orderly, but out of control, they can be compulsive under control. And I like this. They’re logical, but out of control, they can be critical. Ouch

Aaron Antillon (32:07):
Under control, they’re teachable, but out of control, they can be easily offended. Remember this? And I go back to it. What we really need is balance in whatever personality style is. Our predominant style. What we need is to remain more under control than out of control. One of my big discoveries, one of the big aha moments was whenever I identified that I had been living the majority of my life out of control. And then I begin to think through the people, starting with my own wife and my own children and those that I love the most that I trust the most and that I’m spending the majority of my time with how I had UN intentionally hurt them. And I made a commitment to the Lord and I said, Lord, from this point forward, I’m taking a deep dive. I’m gonna better Aaron, whether anybody else reciprocates.

Aaron Antillon (33:14):
And even I wasn’t looking for people to meet me halfway. I said, I’m going all in, whether it’s reciprocated or not, because I want my words to bring forth healing. I want my words to bring forth a restoration. I want my words to bring forth hope, much easier said than done, but it had to come through having a system. And I call this my system for success. Being a system that has enabled me success. You know, Daniel, from my point of view, success is not a number. It’s not a place. It’s not a title. Success in my world is arriving at my desired destination, fulfilling the purpose that God called me to operating on all cylinders, living in my best in highest use. And I said, now what I’m gonna go all in. You know what? Quite frankly, it took my wife probably about two years to believe it because of all the years, somebody just asked me my wife and I just celebrated 24 years of last month. And they asked, how long have y’all been married? Well, we’ve been happily married about 16, 17 years. What? I’m sorry, we’ve been happily married about six or seven years. We’ve been married though 24 years because I had missed that. She was the opposite. She is the opposite style than I, and I had spent all those years hurting. The one that God had given to me to complete me.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (34:59):
What personality type is your wife?

Aaron Antillon (35:01):
A CS? And I’m a di.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (35:04):
So, so explain that people have a one quadrant that they are strongest in. And then a secondary,

Aaron Antillon (35:12):
A lot of times there is the only way to really identify if there are some people that they’re even such thing as a level blend

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (35:20):
That they’re, they’ve got some of everything that,

Aaron Antillon (35:22):
That they’re right in the middle with everything.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (35:25):
So, so the other day I told you that I was a di and I, I seem to remember when I took the test. That that’s what I was. But you immediately said, no, Daniel, I think you’re a DC. Yes. And, and it’s because I’m meticulous. I like giving lists. Like I’m, I’m very studious. So that’s the, the DC. And, and I think what happened is that I wish I was an I, and sometimes I try to fake being an I, but my real personality is the DC. See?

Aaron Antillon (35:57):
Yes. And I, I, I would agree with you on, on that. Because even, even whenever we are talking about parties starting and things like that and moving in that area, you’re like no, we’re not going that way.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (36:10):
Let’s let’s accomplish something.

Aaron Antillon (36:12):
Let’s accomplish the task, let it get it. Let’s get it done and see, and that’s

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (36:17):
Where you’re gonna laugh. I didn’t even do a super bowl party this year. I didn’t even go to a super bowl party. I was like, I was like, I don’t, I got something I gotta do that night.

Aaron Antillon (36:25):
Well, I had been upset of course, because of the Cowboys loss and throughout the whole playoff season, I’m like, I’m not going to any super bowl party. I’m not even gonna watch it. But of course I had to go to wild wings and I had to be in the middle of all the hoopla to watch the super bowl because of my high eye. I didn’t care who won. I was upset.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (36:46):
So you, what did you say your wife was? She’s

Aaron Antillon (36:49):
A CS.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (36:50):
Okay. So how does someone like you a di relate to a CS?

Aaron Antillon (36:56):
It takes a lot of, and understanding the model. That’s more than a segment. That’s a year of teaching and coaching and training. That’s a packed question there.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (37:09):
Let’s, let’s talk about how to reach people that have yes. These different personality traits. So as evangelists, we are called to be fishers of men. Yes. And for every different type of fish, there is a different bait or lure that would be used. So if you’re going ocean fishing, you’re gonna use a different bait than if you’re in a stream fishing for a, a salmon or, or, or something. And, and, and so you want to use the appropriate bait to reach different personality styles, and that can relate to how you share stories in your sermons. It can relate to the speed that you preach in. It can relate to whether you are giving personal anecdotes or giving statistics like different ways of communication, help to connect with different personality types. And, and even some people might need more of the one-on-one touch than being in an audience. Absolutely. And, and, and so let’s talk about these, these he’s four different person like, like how would you reach someone who is a dominant personality, a D type personality who’s driven. Maybe it’s a businessman who is highly accomplished. They make lots of money. You go into their office. They say, you have three minutes with me. What do you wanna say? How would you communicate with them about Jesus in that three minutes?

Aaron Antillon (38:45):
Okay. Here’s a couple of things with the dominant style. What they want from you is they want you to be brief, be brilliant to the point and be gone. You said the three minutes, you hit it right on target. But here’s what it is that they want. Most of all, they want results. Tell me how your program, tell me what you have to offer is going to get me results. And what are those results? The question that they want answered is what you can write that down. If you’re listening, you can, you can write that down. The question that they want answered is what and what they what’s want.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (39:30):
What do I get out of it?

Aaron Antillon (39:31):
What are the results? What is the results that I’m going to get from this? When you’re selling to ’em? When you’re Asking them to marry you, what’s, what’s the benefit. What’s the result.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (39:47):
And the evangelist is God’s sales person. It’s

Aaron Antillon (39:50):
God’s

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (39:51):
Salesperson. So we, we, we are selling, we’re selling Jesus. We’re

Aaron Antillon (39:53):
Selling Jesus. Tell people what the result is, the peace of mind, the joy, unspeakable, and full of glory, the eternal ticket to heaven. That’s the result, the eye, the inspiring style. They want recognition. So even whenever you’re selling Jesus to them, one of the things that it would be okay to do is to name drop. You just got through leading their best friend or their spouse to the Lord. One of the terms.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (40:32):
So a testimony might be

Aaron Antillon (40:33):
Powerful. A testimony of someone that they admire a testimony of AE would be a great example. You’re in a sense name dropping. One of the things that I use is whenever I’m selling, whenever I’m connecting, I use this term just like you. I just sold this product to a leader. Just like you. I just led this person to Jesus and know what they remind me of someone. Just like you, just like you is a phrase that is a great connection with them. Why? Because they want to do what is popular. Their need is the recognition, the approval and the popularity. They’re gonna go by the popularity vote because remember, it’s all about the people. It’s all about the people. They

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (41:31):
Wanna be part of something.

Aaron Antillon (41:32):
They wanna be a part of something. They wanna see something. That’s something that’s bigger than them. And so that’s the big thing. The great party. Maybe even whenever you come to Jesus, all of heaven is rejoicing. There’s a party going on and they’re celebrating you today. That’s a big thing that resonates realize it doesn’t have to resonate with, but it resonates with them. Now, the S it’s all about the one on one relationship. It’s all about the relationship. And you don’t have to do anything boisterous, anything flamboyant, but the sincerity and the relationship, they’re gonna be able to spot if you’re a phony or not.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (42:21):
So

Aaron Antillon (42:22):
Since you connect

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (42:22):
With them sincerity with that, it’s flashy, it’s presentation that they like, right. It’s someone who is, is real with them, right. The genuineness. And

Aaron Antillon (42:32):
Even if you’re doing a crusade, and if it’s geared towards a particular style, a particular personality style, you identify, what is that need of the particular style and you gear and you set your presentation up to connect with that particular style.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (42:54):
Yeah. I, I think if you’re preaching a sermon, it might be worthwhile to go through the sermon and you could even highlight different areas of your notes with the different colors that correspond to these different say yes. Say, okay, this part of the sermon is gonna connect with dominant people. Yes. This, this story is that I’m gonna share is really gonna connect with, with people who are eyes that, that want inspiration, that this, and then, you know, I’m gonna slow down here and I’m gonna look people in the eyes and I’m gonna give them some of the genuine testimony from my heart to connect with the S and then I’m gonna give some facts and figures so that the, the CS can think through it and make sure that it all, all makes sense. Exactly. And, and you can, and you can structure your sermon in such a way that you can relate to different people. Cause I think one of the mistakes people do, they, they, they start by preaching sermons that would mu that would best reach their personality type. Exactly. But not everyone in the audience is gonna be your personality type. Exactly. You’re gonna have D front types of people. And so you have to intentionally think, how am I gonna reach this type of person? Or how am I gonna reach that type of person? Let

Aaron Antillon (44:09):
Me give you a great stat. Let me give you a great stat, because this would be relevant. The deeds represent about 10% of the population for you sees you’re gonna love this stat. The eyes represent 20 to 30%. So realize the D and eyes are your outgoing style. So if you’re outgoing, if you’re fast paced, if your presentation is loud, boisterous, flamboyant, all the pyrotechnics and all that. You’re only reaching about 40% at max of the outgoing individuals, because the season, the SS and the CS are not going to connect with that. Now the SS represent about 35% of the population and the CS, because of course it has to be right. They represent 25% of the population. So you see that the reserve represents 60% and the outgoing represent 40%. So if you’re to gear your presentation to where you don’t know who the gen who’s in the general audience, if you’re to slow your presentation down, speak a little bit softer, make more eye contact, nice gestures and soft smiles, very intentionally.

Aaron Antillon (45:33):
You’re probably gonna connect with the larger percentage of the population that’s in your audience. You and I were talking yesterday, and I was telling you just about some techniques whenever I’m walking through the crowd. And I’m speaking that whenever I’m in the front of the auditorium, because we would say that those that are more outgoing are probably racing to be in the front. I’m a little bit more animated. And my gestures are bigger. My smiles are bigger. I even do some touches, but as I make my way towards the back of the room, I soften my tone.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (46:13):
They’re sitting in the back. Cause they don’t really want someone to come and touch ’em

Aaron Antillon (46:16):
They don’t, they don’t. And that’s the real, and that’s the reality of it. Yeah. They’re, it’s not that they’re safe. Look at. We would say what would we say that, that the back row is reserved for who

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (46:33):
The cool kids,

Aaron Antillon (46:35):
For those, for those that are UN not interested or those that not you, maybe, maybe it’s those that are more reserved. My wife is more reserved when we go to church. I like sitting in the front, but because I know that if I sit in the front, she isn’t gonna follow me. I sit more closer to the back, but shouldn’t you follow me? I’m the man. I’m the husband. I’m the leader of the home. Absolutely I am. But I’m looking to effectively connect with her. So let me make that necessary adjustment. What do you think? How do you feel? So

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:13):
Talk to me a little bit more about the, the C personality. You said that D’s ask what eyes look for. Recognition,

Aaron Antillon (47:22):
SS, eyes, ask who

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:24):
Relation. They ask, who eyes ask, who, what do SS ask

Aaron Antillon (47:28):
For, look at this? How,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:30):
Okay.

Aaron Antillon (47:30):
How can I best

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:31):
Serve? You? See, I’m asking because, you know, I want all my ducks in a row. Absolutely. The Best’s a C coming out. I think. Absolutely. What does CS ask?

Aaron Antillon (47:39):
Why do you ask that question, Daniel?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:42):
Do they ask why?

Aaron Antillon (47:43):
Why do you ask?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:44):
Because I’m a, got some C in me

Aaron Antillon (47:47):
CS, ask why, you know, Daniel, I used to, even in conversations that you and I would have, you would ask me why, why are you thinking this way?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (47:58):
I have a curiosity in my personality to want to figure things out and, and to understand what is going on and the

Aaron Antillon (48:06):
Way that I would translate it, look at this the way I would translate it is he’s trying to trap me. He’s trying to highlight my inadequacies. He’s trying to identify that I did not properly or effectively research this, but you were asking me why in order to get to the root cause. So that way you could help bring some so, and seeing that’s where everyone communicates, but few connect. And there was a disconnect there. And I would wonder why is Daniel challenging me like that? And you’re like, thinking I’m not challenging. And that

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (48:44):
Wasn’t my, that wasn’t my intention at all. I’m trying to help you, but in your personality type, it was interpreted that way. All right. So D ask what eyes, ask, who S is, ask how and CS ask, why, why

Aaron Antillon (48:58):
They ask, why not, why in order to trap you, but when they’re under control, why so that way they have the clarity on how they can best serve.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (49:10):
That’s awesome. And

Aaron Antillon (49:11):
Help take the organization to an next level of excellence.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (49:16):
I feel like you could discuss all of these different types for hours on end. And in fact, you have several training courses where you teach people how to understand DISC and how to understand themselves and how to use it to, to relate to others. You you’re actually a master trainer. Yes. In coach, in the disc model of, of human behavior. And you have a bunch of resources available for people who want to understand disc better. And you, you wrote one resource on how to win with people by using DISC. And you’re willing to give that

Aaron Antillon (49:55):
Free gift. It’s a gift to our

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (49:56):
Listeners

Aaron Antillon (49:56):
Today, a free gift on our website.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (49:58):
Awesome. And so what’s your website and how can someone get this extremely valuable resource, how to win with people by using disc, just

Aaron Antillon (50:06):
Go to LegacyLeadership.academy, And at very top, you’ll see an area that says free gift and just click on that link and just put in your name and your email address, and you’ll get an immediate download of that resource.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (50:23):
And on your website, you have information about how to receive additional training. Yes. In, in this,

Aaron Antillon (50:30):
We have certifications, we have in-person events at some of the nicest resorts in America. And so our next training is in Destin in Florida. We’re gonna go on a missions trip to the Windham, Emerald grand on April 2nd through the, I’m sorry, April 3rd through the sixth at the Windham Emerald grandest. And we’re going to just go in and learn more about the model of human behavior and how we can serve others and empower leaders while we’re there on the beach, just loving Jesus and loving each other.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (51:04):
That’s awesome. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. All right. Well, thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast. I think this information is extremely valuable for evangelists to think about and how they’re communicating to these different personality types and, and styles of, of communication. So, Erin, you’re a good friend. I appreciate you. This was so valuable, so much extremely valuable content. Thank you for being on the evangelism podcast. Well

Aaron Antillon (51:36):
Thank you for having me.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (51:37):
Thanks so much for listening to the evangelism podcast. I am excited about telling people about Jesus and we could not preach the gospel with out your help. Over our years of ministry, we found that we’re able to reach one person for Jesus, for every dollar that people give us. And so that means that if you would give us $1, we could start a party in heaven. In fact, I’m asking people to join our partnership program and give at least $1 every single month to help us to lead more people to Jesus. This is the greatest investment of your dollar that you can make. It’s the only investment that’s gonna matter 10,000 years from now. So if you would like to help us lead people to Jesus, please visit king ministries.com and help us lead people to Jesus today. God bless you

Happy Birthday Daniel King – From Jessica King

Hi! This is Jessica King. This year on February 4, my husband Daniel King turns 44 years old. Can you help me CELEBRATE his BIRTHDAY?

There are two things you can do:

  1. Send Daniel a Birthday Greeting

I am putting together a beautiful presentation with greetings from all of Daniel’s friends and ministry partners. I will give this presentation to him as a birthday present. Simply reply to this e-mail to send a birthday message to Daniel.

  1. Help Daniel Reach People for Jesus

Since I live with Daniel, I get to see on a daily basis how passionate he is about leading the lost to Christ. I also see how much he values YOU as our ministry partner and how he prays for you and your needs.

Daniel’s idea of a great BIRTHDAY PRESENT is to be able to tell even more people about the Gospel. In the next few months, Daniel is planning trips to Ethiopia, Colombia, Zambia, Kenya, and the Netherlands. On these trips thousands of people will be saved, but Daniel needs your help to be able to go.

Will you help me honor Daniel’s passion for souls by giving a financial gift for soul winning?

Your birthday gift of $44 (representing $1 for each year Daniel has been alive) or whatever amount God puts on your heart would be a huge blessing that will enable Daniel to continue to preach in the hardest-to-reach places in the world.

Please join me today in giving Daniel the best birthday he has ever had!

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:55):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King, and I’m excited about telling people about Jesus today. I have a special guest with me, my good friend, Billy Thompson. Thank you for being with me today. Thank

Billy Thompson (01:08):
You for having me,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:10):
Pastor Billy. It is wonderful to be with you. You and I have been friends ever since we were both students at or Roberts university. Yes, sir. And we had a very unique job. Both of us while we were at Oral Roberts University, both of us were employed by the Holy Spirit Library, right? And we got to listen to cassette tapes of famous preachers talking about the holy spirit and talking about God. People had sent these cassette tapes in from holy over, and then they cat catalog them and put them so that people doing research. What were some of the things that you learned while in the holy spirit library? Oh, that was

Billy Thompson (01:54):
The coolest job. I don’t think I’ve had a cooler job than that. Being able to be paid to listen to somebody preach. Some of them did put me to sleep to be honest with you, but some of them were amazing and had lots of nuggets. I think the one thing that stood out to me was William bra. He’s one that has been an interesting character in, in the charismatic movement. And we listened to lots of his sermons. But one thing I found that every sermon that he did, there was one, one sentence that he always said, and it was right from the scriptures where he says, Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever. And so no matter what his message was, he always said that. And then God would break out with miracles and confirm that word that Jesus Christ is the same. If Jesus healed, he still heal. If he saved, he still saves. If he delivered, he still delivers. And that was one nugget that just stood out

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:42):
To me. Now, he, you graduated from or robs university and then your wife also finished her master of divinity there. I, I think I learned as much from the holy spirit library as I did in classes at U, but it really is such an awesome place full of the holy spirit. Tell me kind of what that was like going to oral Roberts university.

Billy Thompson (03:09):
I knew when I was 12 years old that I wanted to go oral Roberts. I used to watch oral on TV. And when I got a chance to visit on a college weekend, when I was a sophomore in high school, I fell in love with the place and knew absolutely. That’s where I wanted to go. And one thing about oral Roberts university is God told oral to raise up your students, to hear my voice. And I remember going to classes and just trying to figure out when do we get to hear the voice of God? When’s the voice of God class. And one of the professors Dr. Brad young, he said, you are in the right atmosphere to hear God. And that’s the one thing I took away from ORU. The most, it was that atmosphere that was like no other. And I really began to hear the voice of God clearer than any other time in my life when I was at ORU, because the professors there, they, they were like family and they really just poured into you. Everything that they had. And it was just a great atmosphere, built some of the best relationships with my life. Some of my best friends came out of ORU. They are more like brothers than just friends. And so it’s been a great time. That’s a great school. I highly recommend anyone who’s thinking about going to, to college. ORU would be a great place to go.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:13):
Now I remember many years ago you pastored a little church. Yeah. Right in, in Dallas, Texas, right? Mm-Hmm the mid Dallas, Texas. And it was a church that had been planted by your grandfather is that, great-grandfather your great-grandfather. And so this is being in ministry is a legacy that has been passed down through your family in, and is now resting in, in your hands. And I remember when we went to that church, you had me come preach one time. And, and you were such a, a powerful preacher anointed man of God. And to this day, you continue to, to preach the gospel. Talk to me some about what that legacy means in your family to be following after God. That’s

Billy Thompson (05:01):
Awesome. My great-grandfather, he actually was my spiritual father and it kind of skipped two generations. My grandfather, another my, nor my father actually entered into the ministry. My grandfather was a deacon, but my great-grandfather, he really adopted me. And he was more like Abraham and I was his Isaac. I was his son of old age. And and I had a special relationship. It with him, probably even more so than his own son had because of that spiritual connection. And he’s gone now because he was already up in years when I first was coming into the Lord. But he’s the one that really poured into me. My legacy. I find myself sounding like him. I find myself preaching like him. And I hate the fact that we didn’t have recordings in those days to, to keep that leg. See, but I know that I am an extension of what he did. And so I do thank God because he definitely was a spiritual father that, that really poured into me, all that he had. And, and I am his Isaac.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:54):
Yeah. And you’ve been pouring your anointing and all the things that God’s been showing you over the years into your, your brand new YouTube channel. Yes. It’s called heaven’s frequency. Mm-Hmm <affirmative>. And I’ve seen some of your videos have beginning thousands and thousands of views, really connecting with people. What are some of the, the messages that you have been sharing on your YouTube channel heaven’s frequency? So the

Billy Thompson (06:21):
Title is heaven’s frequency and we came, well, why did

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:23):
You choose that title?

Billy Thompson (06:24):
Yeah, it’s because a lot of times people are trying to find the voice of God. Just like when I was saying about going to oral Roberts university, people are always looking for direction. What does God want me to do? God is a speaking God, anyone who calls himself, the word has a lot to say, that’s what Mike Murdoch would say. And so people want to hear the voice of God and know exactly how God speaks to them. And that’s something that people kind of struggle with. And so the whole point of the heavens frequency is to teach people how to tune in to God, how to tune out the world, how to tune out the devil and tune into the voice of God. So what I do a lot in this podcast is talk a little bit out the ways God speak different ways. We can tap into the voice of God, how to know when is God, you know, it’s easily also to be deceived and think it’s God.

Billy Thompson (07:05):
And I talk about some of my own struggles and my own growth, where I thought it was God. And it wasn’t God. And I try to help people understand the process of hearing the voice of God. Because learning to hear God is a process. It’s a lifelong own journey. No one can come to the point where they’ve already mastered it, but God wants to speak to us. He wants to be in a relationship with us. He wants to conversate with us. And so part of our podcast is really talking about getting people to understand how God talks and how to connect with God at that level. He’s a speaking God, if we pray and we just give God everything we have and say, amen, and walk out, that’s a monologue. God wants a dialogue. God created us for conversation. And so that’s what it’s about tuning into that frequency, just like frequency, a radio station.

Billy Thompson (07:50):
You know, there are radio signals are always being transmitted, but you have to be tuned in to pick up that particular station. And God is always talking, but we’re not is catching the signal. Sometimes what God is saying is going right past us is going right through us. And it’s not because God doesn’t have a lot to say, but we’re not necessarily tuned in to what God is saying. And so God wants us to be tuned in. He says, my sheep, know my voice and a stranger. They will not follow. And I talk about a lot about the mistakes I’ve made and learning to hear the voice of God hope, hopefully to cut somebody’s learning curve down. And so they don’t have to make some of the mistakes I made on the journey.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:25):
Now you’re actually BI vocational, you’re in ministry. But you’ve also earned your doctorate of education and you are serving in the, the education realm. And so talk to me kind of about how God uses you as a minister, but also being in the realm of education.

Billy Thompson (08:48):
I love education. Education gives me a chance to impact people that ordinarily wouldn’t go to church. You know, as an educator, particularly as a principal, my job is to oversee the school to make sure that everyone is physically safe. That’s number one, academically safe, spiritually safe, emotionally safe. And a lot of times my students and my teachers, they go through all different kinds of things, just like we all do. You know, the Bible says it reigns and adjust as well as the unjust. And there are certain things that we can only get through with Christ help. And so when the world goes through things, they need to know that Jesus is there for them. And so I love working in that secular arena, working in the public school, you know, we’re kind of limited in that realm. We can’t really preach the gospel freely because it is a public space.

Billy Thompson (09:33):
However, we can be a light shining in the darkness. And I believe that my presence there is pushing back the darkness. And I find myself having lots of opportunities to share Jesus with families, with parents, with teachers as they go through life crisis. And I find myself being very pastoral in that environment because one thing a pastor does is he walks through life with you. He doesn’t just preach on Sunday. That’s part of what he does. He doesn’t just do Bible studies with you, but he also is there for when you are, when you’re hurting, when you lose someone or you’re going through, or you’re contemplating marriage or you’re contemplating divorce, or you’re trying to make decisions about the next step in life. And a lot of my students, particularly my seniors, they’re trying to figure out where do I go with my life. I I’ve been trained since kindergarten to, to, and to write, but now what do I do with all this knowledge?

Billy Thompson (10:18):
What do I do next? And I get a chance to sit with them and counsel with them and not tell them what to do, but to help them to think and to consider God always before they take the next step. And again, even with my parents and my teachers, they come in my office. Sometimes parents break down crying because they’re overwhelmed with the challenge of raising children today. It’s hard raising and today, especially with all the forces that the world is throwing at them even more so than even when we were coming up. And so I get a chance to be able to give parents advice, not necessarily telling them how to raise their children, but telling them different ways that they may not have thought of. And I try to give them biblical counsel. I will use scripture if it’s appropriate, but sometimes I’m not allowed to use scripture, but I just give advice.

Billy Thompson (10:58):
And sometimes I just see them break down. And I’ll just say, do you mind if I pray for you? And they’ll say, yes, I’ve never had anybody once refuse prayer. And so I find myself ministering in every setting, even though I’m a public school administrator. And I’ve been before that, I was a public school teacher. I taught English and I taught history. And just being able to impact those students day by day and watch them grow. There’s nothing like that. So I see my bivocational ministry, not as two separate entities. We were taught at oral Roberts university to go into every man’s world. Every man is not going to come into our churches. We wish they would, but they not ne they necessarily will not. So we have to go to where they are. And everyone had asked to put their kid in a school, whether that’s private school, public school, or even a homeschool network, they’re still connecting with other people. So children, everyone has children, and everyone wants their children to be loved, to be respected and to be cared for. And so I find myself being able to be pastoral to people who are not necessarily

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (11:56):
Churched. Now you’ve taken your passion for education and your passion for ministry mingle them together and used it to reach people for God in Ghana, Africa. Yes. And so in Ghana, you have, I’ve developed a, a network of churches and ministries. You have some Bible schools there kind tell us, what is God doing in Ghana? Ghana is a

Billy Thompson (12:21):
Place that really has my heart. God called us to Ghana several years ago. We’ve been there over a decade now. And as you were saying, I am an educator at heart. And so one thing we also have is Bible schools. I believe that we have to train up the next generation. And so what we do in Ghana is we go into villages where the gospel has not yet been preached. We preach the gospel. We start Bible studies. We eventually develop them into churches and we have 10 churches now that have been established. And then we also train people in ministry so that they can go out and bring more people into, into the fold. And so we really do that by education. And so I see myself as an educator, both in the church and outside of the church because Jesus was a teacher. I mean, he didn’t, he wasn’t working any kind of a school system, but he is the great teacher. And so I want to emulate Jesus, the great teacher. And I find myself doing that in as well as in the church.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:17):
Well, my wife, Jessica and I have great appreciation for you and for your wife, joy, you both have been very good friends. And you also serve on the board of king ministries, which I’m very grateful for and helping to provide vision direction and prayer for us over the years. And I just want to encourage anyone. Who’s listening to go to YouTube and find heaven’s frequency, frequency, and subscribe to Billy Thompson’s channel. You will be blessed. He has just nugget after nugget. That is, is like gold. It it’s look on YouTube. You can find all kinds of videos, but you gotta find the gold nuggets in the midst of all the, the, the junk that’s there. And every single video that you put up is just a gold nugget. And then also go and subscribe to the heavens frequency podcast. You find can find it on apple iTunes and on other platforms where’s, it’s available. So, so look for it. And I’d also encourage you to support the ministry of Billy Thompson and what he’s doing in Ghana, Africa. There’s always a need for building new churches. Yes. Which king ministries we’ve had the opportunity to help with building one of the new churches that, that you’ve built then building Bible schools and then training up people. And, and so if, if someone is interested in impacting lives in Ghana, how can they find out more about you and find a place where they could give and participate in that? So

Billy Thompson (14:50):
You go to our website, Christ, disciples, churches.com, Christ, disciples, churches. So in Ghana we have, like I said, 10 churches right now, we’re constantly expanding. All of our churches have the same name. They’re just Christ disciples church, but they’re in 10 different locations throughout the city in V region, which is where we’re based is a very hard area. There’s a lot Satanism. There’s a lot of witchcraft, a lot of leaning on witch doctors. There’s a lot of idolatry. And so it’s a very hard area and God has been with us because we’ve planted churches in areas where others have tried to plant churches. And for whatever reason have not been successful, we spend a lot of time praying over everything we do. And so the people are surprised at the churches that we’ve AB there, that that are actually thriving. And so we just thank God for what he’s doing.

Billy Thompson (15:35):
We covet your prayers for what God is doing throughout the nation of Ghana. Ghana has a lot of Christians. It’s not a nation that does not know God, but we are in an area of Ghana that actually has a lot of resistance to the gospel. And we’ve targeted that area of on purpose, which is the Balter region, which is next to the country of Togo. But actually in Ghana, west Africa, Ghana has 12 regions. The Northern Africa is another part. The Northern part of the Ghana is where we want to go to next. There’s a lot of other religions there, a lot of tribal religions, a lot of other major religions besides Christianity that we want to kind of go into those territories as well. So there’s a lot of work to do in Ghana, but that’s a place that God put on our heart.

Billy Thompson (16:17):
So strongly. We’ve traveled to many different nations every year. My wife and I, when we are able to travel, we go to two countries. We go somewhere else, but it’s always gonna be Ghana. Ghana has our heart. And even now with the pandemic, we’ve not traveled to Ghana in the last two years, but we spend a lot of time online, online in Skype and Google meet meetings, meeting with our pastors there, we regularly try and encourage them and, and empower them. They’re such a hunger in Ghana for the gospel. They’ll sit there and listen to you, preach for three hours. And when you wanna stop this, say, no, continue. We want more. So it’s, it’s a great place. We always have lots of needs there. As you were saying, Daniel, we’re building a Bible school. We’ve had a Bible school there for several years.

Billy Thompson (16:58):
Actually. It’s connected, affiliated with victory Bible college in in Tulsa, Oklahoma. And we use their curriculum primarily. I’ve written some of it, but we primarily use victories curriculum. So it’s a pretty strong established school, but what we’re working on right now is an act, a building. And so it’s going up right now. We could use lots of help with that. We’re gonna have some dormitories in there. So when people can come over and stay, we have pastors conferences there. We do pastors conferences there every year. We also do marriage conferences, my wife and I, we’ve only been married 11 years. We don’t consider ourselves experts by any means. But a lot of times when we’re there, people are praying about their marriage and they’re praying about their relationships and relationships is key. The very first institution that God gave us was the institution of family and the garden of Eden.

Billy Thompson (17:42):
He gave us at before. There was a church he gave Adam and Eve that unit of family. And so churches are just made up of a bunch of families. And so we spend a lot of time working with relationships. And as I, as I’ve said, we’ve only been married 11 years, but my wife and I we’ve shared the mistakes we’ve made along the way. And we try and be candid with where we are in our journey is also sharing with them 100%, the word of God and say, this is what the Bible says. And we try to make sure that the Bible is our standard of how we should do it. And we try to make that as an example. So we do marriage conferences there. We also do medical clinics. My wife is a nurse by traders, as well as I’m being an educator.

Billy Thompson (18:17):
And so my whole ministry is based on educating the church. So the church is not in deception and the church understands the word of God and understands the purity of God’s word. But when we’re also there, my wife is concerned about their physical health as well. So she does clinics and she talks to them about their wellbeing. She talks to the women about good feminine health. She talks to the men about their, their blood pressure and we take medicine and we do all different kinds of things. So those are the three main things that we do there. We do medical clinics, we do marriage conferences. We do leadership conferences and we plant churches. And so Ghana is just a place. It definitely has our heart.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:51):

Billy Thompson (18:59):

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:01):
Churches, Christ, disciples, churches.com.com. And so go to his website and, and learn more about what they’re doing there. And Billy is just always such a delight to be with you. Like I, I consider you to be a great friend and you are a powerful man of God. And so I’m very honored to be your friend. Let’s just finish with a prayer for the people who are listening. Just pray for those who are, are looking for what God them to do. You’ve gone through several different areas in your life that God’s been using you. So just pray for those who are listening, that that they’d be able to, to tap into what God wants them to do with their life.

Billy Thompson (19:42):
Father. I pray for everyone listening to my voice right now. I thank you for your wisdom, your grace and your direction coming upon them, father, God, I think you’ve that you opened the way for them. Everything that’s been closed to them. I thank you that you’re opening it. God, I just commit them to you right now. And father God, I asked that you would take away all fog and all confusion that may be there. Allow them to come forth clarity. Right now we counsel the assignment of the enemy over their life. Every stumbling block, everything that has held up and everything that has held them and kept them from their destiny. We remove that right now in the authority of the name of Jesus. And we loose them down to their destiny. We speak peace to every storm. We speak healing to every situation and God, we commit these people to you. God, we love you. And we thank you that you always hear us when we pray. Bless your people and Jesus name.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:30):
