Main Idea: In order to be saved, you must put your faith in the right thing.
Key Verse: Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12 NKJV).
Illustration: Once there was a man who was sick with a headache. He looked in his food cupboard and found a small white pill. He was sure the pill was an aspirin and he put it in his mouth and swallowed it. But the problem is that the pill was not aspirin, it was rat poison. Because the man ate the rat poison, he died instead of curing his headache.
The man was sincere in his belief that the white pill was aspirin but he was wrong. He had faith, but his faith was in the wrong object. Sincerity of belief is not enough to be saved. You must put your faith in something that can actually save you.
In order to be saved, you must put your faith in the right object. Some people put their faith in their own good works, but even if this faith is sincere, it is not enough to save that person. Other people put their faith in a politician, or a religious figure, or in the belief of a famous movie star, but none of these people can save you even if you sincerely believe them. The only name that can save you is the name of Jesus.
