Not Even Warthogs Can Stop
the Preaching of the Gospel

It takes a long time to fly to Mozambique, but no distance is too far to go for souls! I flew first to Johannesburg, South Africa, and then to Beira, Mozambique. From there, we caught a small jumper plane over to Gorongosa National Park.

As we approached our pilots radioed ahead to let them know we were coming. The National Park sent a pickup truck out onto the dirt runway to scare away all the warthogs and baboons so our plane could safely land!

After we landed, I took a picture of a warthog. He was on his knees with his nose in the dirt, rooting around for food. Perhaps he was a Christian warthog because when he was on his knees, it looked like he was praying!

On the way out of the park, we saw kudu, impala, monkeys, and lots of baboons. Then we drove for two hours over a very bumpy road to the small town of Gorongosa. Not even warthogs can keep us from preaching the Gospel!

Jesus Comes to Gorongoza

Gorongosa was the headquarters of a rebel movement that fought the government of Mozambique for many years. Five years ago, a peace agreement brought an end to the fighting. Because of the long conflict, the town remains undeveloped, and many of the roads are still in poor condition.

One night, I preached about the paralyzed man who was let down through the roof. Jesus looked at him and said, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Many people responded to the altar call.

Another night, I preached about Blind Bartimaeus. Jesus healed Bartimaeus, and Bartimaeus left his past behind and followed Jesus. After the message, we invited everyone who was blind or partially blind to come forward. Some were blind in one eye, and others had serious problems with their eyesight. We formed a long row of pastors, and the pastors laid hands on the people and prayed. Many people were healed and came to the platform to testify about what Jesus had done!

From Gorongoa to Chimoio

After a successful event in Gorongosa, the sound system was taken down and transported over dusty, bumpy roads to the city of Chimoio.

Chimoio is a key city located directly on the highway between the port city of Beira and Harare, Zimbabwe. Lots of traffic passes through the city. Over the last decade, Chimoio has grown by leaps and bounds and has become an important city in this region of Mozambique.

It took one day to tear down the sound system and another two days to set everything back up. Finally, we were ready to begin our second crusade. Then it started to rain. Rain is unusual at this time of year, but it poured on the first night, and we had to cancel the crusade. It rained again the second night, and once again, we had to cancel. On the third day, it rained all day long. But at 5:00 PM, the rain finally stopped!

Immediately, the team went into action. We pulled the sound system and speakers out of the truck, and by 7:00 PM, Gospel music was blasting across the field.

The crusade was held in a densely populated township of Chimoio called 4th of April. Because so many people lived in the surrounding area, they poured onto the field. We had a powerful night of ministry with many salvations and great miracles.

Rosa Healed

Rosa’s Deaf Ear Opens

One of my favorite miracles happened to a woman named Rosa. Rosa was deaf in her left ear. She came forward for prayer, and I put my finger in her ear and prayed in the name of Jesus. At the end of the prayer, God opened her ear! She could hear perfectly and became the first person to come onto the platform to testify about what Jesus had done. What a mighty God we serve!

Thank you so much for your prayers and your support which make it possible for us to lead people to Jesus.
