Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:14):
Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast. I’m Daniel King. I’m excited about telling people about Jesus. Today I have a very special guest with me, Angel Michael or Michelle.

Angel Mitchell (00:28):
Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:28):
Thank you so much for being on the Evangelism podcast.

Angel Mitchell (00:30):
Thank you so much, sir. It’s an honor for me.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:33):
And so you are living in the Ivory Coast. How do you say it in French?

Angel Mitchell (00:40):
Called Devoir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:41):
Yeah. And tell me a little bit about how you are involved in evangelism.

Angel Mitchell (00:47):
All right. Thank you so much. I’m blessed to be here and it’s a great opportunity for me. We are indeed a group of people in Caldewore where I serve alongside the Ministry of the Lifelight Communications. It’s been a blessing since over close to 10 years. So over nine years now, we have been serving the Lord Jesus in Ivory Coast.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:14):
And tell me about the evangelism that you’re doing.

Angel Mitchell (01:19):
Okay. So we are doing evangelism. The first thing I would say is to win the souls, win the souls for the Lord Jesus Christ. But there are so many strategies that we put into place. And then we have targeted places that we have been working on over the years, places like the prison, like the schools, universities, the village campaigns. We have been doing it in crusades as well. And we have been running conferences where we train and then we have more disciples to go to rural places, to go to cities, to go to town. And the Lord is helping us.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:54):
And so it’s not just you, you’re building a team of people.

Angel Mitchell (01:57):
Yes, I am. I believed one thing that the Lord Jesus said that he called them firstly, then he sent them out two by two. I believe in teamwork because if Jesus did it, which means we have to do so.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:12):
And you mentioned that you are working with Life Flight, which is a ministry founded by my friend, Alan Green, who lives in Sioux Falls.

Angel Mitchell (02:25):
South Dakota.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:26):
South Dakota, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. And tell me a little bit about how you met Alan Green and then how he has mentored you as an evangelist.

Angel Mitchell (02:37):
Wow. Thank you so much. I met Alan Green in the year 2017 at the Louis Palau Association Festival in Codivor. First lady reached out to so many other cities and then we came to my city, San Pedro. It was a blessing. I translated Alan alongside a lot of other great evangelists that were there. And then I remember this remarkable moment during the word. He said something. He said, “You are an ambassador.” He was preaching from two Corinthians chapter five from the verse 17 that everyone knows. And then he went down to the 20th verse in 21, but then he said something. He said, “You are an ambassador for Christ.” That word was not only a word for the people or the message that day, it was a prophecy because years later he came to pass. After the Louis Para Association Festival, we took it from there.

(03:35):
We started a conversation and within the conversation, he saw a young man passion, as he said. He said, “I feel your passion. I love you. I will give you support.” And that started firstly with a mentorship. He equipped me. I remember the books he always loved to study with me with the book of first and second Timothy. A pastor Paul was coaching Timothy. That’s what he was doing. He coached me, he trained me. We had this time that we would meet. It was like, okay, we meet this week. At this time, we go for one hour or two hours. Sometimes we even go more than that. And then we just go for a training, a specific time. And then he asks some questions, we pray. And then that’s how things went on and on. And today it was like, “Young man, you’re an ambassador and then you’re going to serve in Collibra.” I was like, “There is no other place that I can start serving besides starting from where I am where I spent so many years.

(04:27):
And it’s amazing today to say that we are serving the Lord Jesus and we are saying so it’s being said.”

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:33):
You mentioned that you do village outreaches.

Angel Mitchell (04:35):
Yes, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:36):
Tell me what does that look like? What do you do in a village outreach?

Angel Mitchell (04:41):
Okay. The village outreach. Outreach in the village is kind of … I would advise people to do it, but some people are like, “Yeah, you know the village and it’s not clean and sometimes the weather condition or people are afraid of mosquitoes.” But then the village campaign, what inspired me firstly for that, I want to say that is a Bible verse where the Lord Jesus said this gospel should be preached everywhere and I will be with you. Say to the ends of the earth. I’ve been to some places and I’ve seen big crusades in the big cities, in the big places, but I don’t see big and great ministries go to the villages. A quick testimony, I won’t waste the time. I’ve been in the village. I went to share the gospel to an old lady. I was like, “Do you know Jesus?” This was a response.

(05:37):
She said, “I don’t have it on my table.” I will ask my neighbor. She asked her neighbor and her neighbor also said, “I don’t have it. ” The thing is that they didn’t even know who Jesus is. They were like, “What is it? “

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:50):
What is Jesus?

Angel Mitchell (05:51):
Yes. They didn’t know. He was

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:53):
A who.

Angel Mitchell (05:53):
Yeah. They didn’t know he was a who. I ministered to them. I shared the law of Jesus there. So that moment was the moment I said, “No, these people need to hear Jesus.” And that wasn’t the only time I had similar encounter. I’ve had that so many other times. And I said, “Lord, these people here in those villages need to be rich and I’m waiting. I give up myself. I want to reach out to them. If you give what it takes, we’ll keep on reaching out. ” How does it look like? Just answer to the question. It looked hard because it’s difficult. It’s village. When we go in the village, sometimes to people, they have to go and farm. They leave through farming. That’s their business, that’s their work. And everyone goes to farming because the kids doesn’t even go to school. They don’t have schools in some of the villages.

(06:36):
So everyone goes to the farm in the morning and then they return in the afternoon. So we have to go with strategy. We reached out to the elders of the village, the leaders first. And when they give us the permission, just the correction, after they give us the permission, we have to wait. And then I said that some of the times during our conversation, they have this guy, he’s the one who gave the news. Early in the morning, he’ll have this iron in his hand. He would be like, pom, pom, pom, pom, pom. And he would give to announcement and everyone is aware. And they will go and work in their farm and after they were returned from their farming, they’ll be like, “Okay, we have something waiting for us.” And once they’re out, the villages come out. The villages, all of them, they’ll come out and they want to see because they don’t see light usually in their villages.

(07:20):
They use the thing like the lamb term, like they put in petrol, but they don’t have electricity. So when you come up with something different, they were like, “Oh, what is this? ” Firstly, what attracts them is what they are saying, not Jesus. And then when they come, you give them Jesus and a lot of them have been saved.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:42):
And you’ve also been doing evangelism training seminars. Yes. What do you teach on evangelism at these seminars?

Angel Mitchell (07:50):
All right. What did I teach on evangelism? One of the practical thing that I started with that my father in the Lord, Alan Green, began was the advanced mentoring book. That’s what we have been using now. Yeah,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:04):
That’s been written by my friend, Ben Jack, who is with The Message Trust in Great Britain. And yeah, that’s a great book. The advanced mentoring curriculum. And yeah, if you want to download advance as a way to grow as an evangelist or to get together with a group of evangelists, just search for advance evangelism curriculum and you’ll be able to find it and there’s free downloads in many different languages. That’ll

Angel Mitchell (08:35):
Be a

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:35):
Blessing.

Angel Mitchell (08:35):
Many different languages, that’s true. And I started using that book firstly after being trained, I took some time to study the book, to learn it. How can I now develop it? I know it’s kind of a guidebook where you can teach other people, but I needed to find a way that I can express myself in the message. I needed to study for myself as the Bible says, study to serve yourself approve. That’s what I was doing. So I studied. And then after studying, I reached out to young men that were, I said, “You have the passion to share the gospel. Come let me show you something.” And after showing them like, “This is what we do in advance.” And then some of them became interested like, “Okay, do you have any program? I want to join.” And they began to join. And so many other ministries I’ve reached out to the pastors and so forth.

(09:25):
And then when we started doing this big conference, it started by one big conference, but before that there were small gatherings, the advanced group, the way they teach us how to do it. So I had these groups everywhere. And then one day I was like, “Hey dad, we need to do a conference.” It was like, okay, let’s see what that would cost us. We talk about the cost and then we plan it. And then the first conference was a big success. We have close to 500 pastors that came from our city. Some of them came from outside the city. We have already started the village campaign. So pastors within those villages came out. They came to see what we were doing. That conference was a big success. I didn’t teach in the conference at that time because I had Alan Green on the video who taught and then it was a great success.

(10:06):
And then we had another one where we had him and Josh and another one again where we had Shafra also who is also teaching the event, John Close Shafra. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:16):
I’ve interviewed Chafra before and so if you want to find the interview with another evangelist from the Ivory Coast, just search for the evangelism podcast, Ivory Coast and you should be able to find it. Okay. So Shafra taught?

Angel Mitchell (10:31):
Yeah. Shafra taught. Actually it was Desmond Harry who was meant to teach because he was on the post or everything. And then he said, “I will make it. ” And then he sent Shafa to the city and then Shafra came and he saw the conference and he taught in the conference and it was amazing.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:46):
Wow. Ivory Coast is part of Francophone Africa.

Angel Mitchell (10:52):
Yes. The

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:52):
Dominant language is French and French Africa I think is very different than other parts of Africa. Right now we’re actually in Ghana together. And so there’s a big difference between the English speaking countries and the French speaking countries. And I think there’s also a difference in the spirituality as well. So talk to me a little bit about what God is doing in Ivory Coast and are the people hungry for God? What’s happening spiritually in the Ivory Coast?

Angel Mitchell (11:27):
Okay. I will began this, but this is how the Lord Jesus said it. And I always love to follow his examples because his examples encourage me a lot. The Bible said that the sword went to soul and we cut a long story short, even the ground that produces, produced in different categories, some 30 foot, some 64 and some 104. So Kodivois as other countries, they are people who have the passion, but the result is different. Some are 30 foot, the hunger is 60 foot, and some are hungry for, but I cannot show you, there are a lot of people hungry for the Lord there in Kodivar, but it’s not a country that is dominated by Muslims, but there are a lot of Muslims within the country now. And then-

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:19):
Are Most of the Muslims up in the north

Angel Mitchell (12:21):
Part of

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:21):
The nation?

Angel Mitchell (12:23):
Northern part of the nation is- Up

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:24):
Near Burkina Faso.

Angel Mitchell (12:26):
Near Burkina Faso and Mali.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:27):
Okay.

Angel Mitchell (12:28):
Yeah. And then some Muslims now have tried to invade the Western part, which is the Western part of Kodipour, close to Guinea and Liberia. And there’s a place there called Ma and Dhani. These are two different cities, Ma and Delane. So a lot of the people stay in those places, they are called Yakuba. That’s the tribe, the people who are there. And then most of them are Muslims and some of them are Christians. So the Muslim has this strategy to reach out to people and they are trying to … They don’t do evangelism, but they are reaching out to people and trying to get them. And we are sent as messengers to reach out to two people and get them out of.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:06):
Amen. I love your heart.

Angel Mitchell (13:08):
Thank you so much. Yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:09):
We need to be evangelizing because if we don’t, we will lose many people.

Angel Mitchell (13:15):
That’s right.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:16):
And the world needs to hear about Jesus.

Angel Mitchell (13:18):
Definitely.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:19):
That’s why evangelism is so important.

Angel Mitchell (13:22):
Yes, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:23):
Okay. Talk to me a little bit about your testimony. How did you become a Christian and what is God doing in your life right now?

Angel Mitchell (13:31):
Oh, praise God. I’m blessed to share my testimony. I grew up with a single mom, and this is how my testimony goes like. My mom was a believer and she’s still a believing woman, a woman of God. She sings a lot. She’s a worship minister and she had been doing worship ministry before I was born. My mom touched all the stories. Sure. She countered my dad. And the sad story was that I was just a few months old in my mommy’s belly and my father left. So my mom single-handedly raised me and used to take me to the church and I was serving in the church passionately. And this church where we used to be, we never had one pastor. So it’s a church I always assign a pastor and when he served maybe one year or two years, they would assign another pastor. And so I didn’t have a spirit, a spiritual father, like a specific spiritual father, but I just had all these people that’s main mentors over my life.

(14:30):
And then over the year I’ve been learning. I’ve went through Bible studies. I’ve got some Bible certificates, a lot of them. Why starting from different other places and people like, “Young man, you are so passionate. Once you go and go and do something else.” I had people who said to me, “Angel, go and get some degrees, workout. And this Jesus thing, there is nothing inside for you. ” I was like, “No.” I felt it long ago. And my mom would always encourage me. One thing happened one day, it was raining. My mom taught me something. It was raining. She said, “You got to go translate.” Our pastor by then was a Nigerian pastor assigned to our city. She said, “You have to go and translate.” I was like, “How?” She said, “You need to go. ” I said, “Mom, it’s raining.” She said, “Take off your clothes.” I got my clothes off my skin and then I wore something else.

(15:17):
She said, “Put your clothes in what we call sachet. It’s just a plastic.” And I put my clothes there and I went to church. I was soaked when I arrived to church. I had to change, wear new clothes. And then suddenly, hours later, the rain stopped. No one knew that angel came soaked at the church, but that moment changed my life. It created something in me that said, “Well, young men, you need to serve the Lord Jesus.” And that woman helped me to grow. And then years after that, when I got baptized, I began to preach the gospel when I was 13, and up till now, since I was 13, today I’m 26 years of age and I’m still a preacher and I’m preaching the gospel.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (15:56):
Now, the other day you told me that there are 9,000 villages in the ivory coast.

Angel Mitchell (16:03):
Yes, I did.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:04):
And your desire is to go preach the gospel in all 9,000 villages. Talk to me a little bit about your strategy and your vision for impacting ivory coast.

Angel Mitchell (16:17):
The vision is big. The vision firstly is to win souls in those 9,000 villages. And they are more than 9,000 villages, but the census said there are 9,000 plus villages, but we are just putting our eyes on 9,000 villages and we are targeting all 9,000 villages within the country because the vision has to be big. Someone said to me, he said, “If your vision is not bigger than what you think, then go and sleep again.” I told you I’m not sleeping anymore. I’ve seen my vision already. So the 9,000 villages … But let me say it this way, we have a target for this year, 2026. We have a target to reach out to 300 villages. Wow. We can reach out to 9,000 villages, maybe in my lifetime with the special grace of God, but 9,000 villages is a lot. But this year alone, we want to reach out to 300 villages.

(17:09):
So our target is to reach out there and just to take the gospel to those places, but anything we need to reach out to those people, we use it to go. Yeah. But our goal is to reach out to retire.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (17:23):
And sometimes when you’re doing frontier evangelism, going to hard to reach places, there are sacrifices that must be made. And so last year I heard that you had a car wreck and one of your team members went to heaven. So talk to me about what happened and then what you’ve seen God do out of that. How did that affect you?

Angel Mitchell (17:54):
That affected me a lot. It really hurt me. That young man was a very passionate young man. One thing was that he was the only son living song of a widow that lady lost a husband and he was the only boy.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (18:10):
Wow.

Angel Mitchell (18:11):
So it paint me a lot. Yes, of course, I asked questions. Lord, how, why, when, where? The questions kept coming in. This moment he asked a lot of questions. But then one thing I know about Christianity is the more you grow you metro, the more you know things. I was taken to a scripture of the Bible. I think so. That is first Thestalonian chapter two verse 18. A post to Paul said, “I’ve desire to come to you once and again, but Satan hit on me. I knew that when it comes to evangelism into those hard areas, the devil is fighting. He doesn’t want us to reach here because we were excited to go there and he stopped us.” But months after when we began to get healed, I was back on my feet going. And I went back to that very village where I had an accident where I go into and I went to go.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:08):
Wow. I love that. That even though the devil tried to stop you, you said, “Devil, you’re not going to stop us. We’re still going to go back.”

Angel Mitchell (19:16):
Yes, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:17):
Wow. Let’s finish by praying for Francophone Africa.

Angel Mitchell (19:23):
Yes, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:24):
That the French speaking nations of Africa would have a mighty encounter with God.

Angel Mitchell (19:31):
Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:31):
And so I’m going to ask you to pray, but instead of praying in English, I want you to pray in French

Angel Mitchell (19:37):
For

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (19:37):
Francophone Africa to be saved.

Angel Mitchell (19:39):
Yes. I’m blessed. This is a great opportunity. So I’ll go. Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:28):
Amen. I thought of one more question.

Angel Mitchell (21:32):
Okay, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:32):
You told me that you had found some of my videos on YouTube on how to be an evangelist.

Angel Mitchell (21:40):
Yes.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:40):
What did you learn from some of those videos?

Angel Mitchell (21:44):
And

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:44):
What would you say to the people watching about which ones they should watch?

Angel Mitchell (21:47):
How to preach the gospel. I’ve been through the 28 videos. They were short podcasts, but it has been a blessing for me. I’m hungry to learn. And then as a young evangelist, if you’re watching me, go and learn from others. The Bible says something iron sharpened iron, one thing I believe. And then the scripture also said what he said to one, he said unto all. So that message was maybe for a specific number of people, but ours counted among them. I was blessed to be. What message were you good about? I won’t tell you specifically what message to go about, because how to preach the gospel is a very big subject. But the way Evangelist Daniel, he does detail them. What blessed me a lot, I would just give you one video. He said how to preach the gospel. I think along a translator, that helped me because I’m a translator.

(22:47):
I speak French, I speak English. So I was like, okay, I’m more interested, but that wasn’t the first video. But talking about all the videos, you have to look at that one. If you speak French and you speak English, go and look at that video, but it’s good. And then I would just say, go on the website, go on YouTube and then just put Daniel King. That’s what I did. Daniel King. And then when I came across this video, I saw it, how to preach the gospel. It will be a blessing for you. So I encourage you to just go and check it out.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (23:16):
Yeah, you can find those videos by searching for evangelist Daniel King, or you can find links on my website, www.kingministries.com, kingministries.com. Angel, thank you so much for being on the evangelism podcast. Thank you so much sir. Appreciate

Angel Mitchell (23:33):
You. I’m blessed. Thank you so much. It’s a blessing. Thank you.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (23:38):
All right. That is very good. Can you just stand up against the wall here?

Angel Mitchell (23:43):
Okay, sir.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (23:44):
And I need to take a picture
