Where Is Your Father?

Main Idea: When there is an urgent need, we cannot afford to wait until later.

Key Verse: “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away…” (James 4:13-14 NKJV).

Story:

Once there was a farm boy who accidentally overturned his wagon of corn in the middle of the road. A farmer who lived nearby came to investigate.

The farmer said, “Hey boy, forget your troubles for a little while and come into my house and have dinner with my family. Then I’ll help you get the wagon up.”

“That is very nice of you,” said the boy, “But my Father will not be happy.”

“Don’t worry about what your father thinks, come on over to our house,” the farmer insisted.

“Well, okay,” the boy finally agreed, “But my father is not going to be happy.”

After a wonderful meal, the boy thanked the farmer. The boy said, “I feel a lot better now, but I just know that my father is going to be really upset with me.”

“Don’t be foolish!” exclaimed the neighbor. “By the way, where is your father?”

“Under the wagon.”

When it is urgently time to get saved, do not wait until later or it might be too late. Your Father in heaven is waiting for you to say “Yes!” to Jesus.
