Recently I was in Gorongoza, Mozambique and I preached on the Story of Blind Bartimaeus. Today I want to take you with me on this mission trip. I want you to hear the translation, to hear the response of the crowd in real time, and to rejoice as people give their lives to Jesus. At the end of this sermon many people gave their lives to Jesus and many people were healed including several blind people whose eyes were opened. As you preach the Gospel, I give you this sermon. Recently, I was in Gorangosa, Mozambique, and I preached on the story of Blind Bartamaeus. Today, I want to take you with me on this mission trip to Mozambique, and I want you to hear the message just as I preached it. You’re going to hear the response of the crowd, you’re going to hear the translation, and you are going to hear people as they open up their hearts to receive Jesus. When I finished preaching on Blind Bartimaeus, many people cried out to Jesus for the first time, and then we prayed for the sick, and many people were healed, including several blind eyes that were opened. And so if possible, I want you to imagine a dusty field. I want you to imagine a big platform with bright lights, and I want you to imagine the faces of the people as they hear this powerful message about Blind Bartimaeus. And if you’re an evangelist, I give this message to you. Go, preach it. It works. It will help you bring people to Jesus.

I want to read to you a story from God’s book. This is from the book of Mark, and it is a story about the life of Jesus. Then they came to Jericho, As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city. A blind man named Bartomaeus, that is the son of Tamaus, was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.”. Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.”. Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”. So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up on your feet. He’s calling you.”. Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and he came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”. “Go,” said Jesus, “Your faith has healed you.”. Immediately, he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. Hallelujah. So there was a man whose name was Bartomaeus. He was the son of Tamaeus. He was blind in his eyes. And every day, Bartomaeus would sit beside the road. And he would hold out his hand and he would ask for money.
Evangelist Daniel King (05:29):
But He was blind in both eyes. And he could not see at all. One day he heard that there was a crowd going by. And he thought, “Here is my chance to make some money.”. And he said, “What’s going on?”.

And They said, “Jesus of Nazareth is leaving the city.”. Now he had heard of Jesus of Nazareth. Because When Jesus was coming into the city of Jericho. Jesus had healed another blind man. And so blind Bartameus had heard that Jesus could heal the blind. And he realized, “Today is my day for a miracle.”. And so he began to cry Out. He Said, “Jesus.”. You see he heard about Jesus. And when you hear about Jesus, “Your life is going to change.”. How many of you have heard about Jesus. Raise your hand if you have heard about Jesus. Jesus is the son of God.

He Came from heaven to earth. He was Born to a virgin named Mary. Jesus was God. And he became man. And on this day, Jesus was walking through the City. And I want to tell you Tonight. That Jesus is here. Jesus is walking through the crowd right now. And tonight you are hearing about Jesus. And when you hear about Jesus. Faith is placed in your heart. And when you hear about Jesus, when you hear about Jesus, you can begin to cry out to Jesus.

Yes, Man. He cried out to Jesus. He said, “Jesus.” Have Mercy on me. The Bible says. Everyone who cries out on Jesus. Will be saved.
(08:51):
If You will cry out to Jesus tonight. Jesus can save you.Jesus Can heal you. Jesus can touch your life. Jesus can give you peace. Will you cry out to Jesus tonight. Lift Your hand to heaven. And Say Jesus. Come on, cry out to Jesus. Say Jesus. Some of the people in the crowd. They were walking along. They told the man. Be Quiet. Don’t say anything. You are being too loud. Be quiet. They were trying to stop his miracle. But do you know what he did. He Cried out even louder. He said, “Jesus. Son of David, Have Mercy on me.”. And Jesus was walking along. And he stopped. He said, “Who’s calling Me?”
Evangelist Daniel King (10:24):
They said, “There’s a man.”. He’s Blind. And Jesus said, “Bring him to me.”. And so they went to blind Bartimaeus, and they Said, “Jesus is calling you.”. And so he stood up. And he was wearing some special clothes. He had on a cloak that showed that he was a beggar. It was a special cloak that showed everyone that he was a blind man asking for money. But he had so much faith that when Jesus called him, he dropped his cloak, and he left his coat behind. This was a sign of his faith because that special cloak, it showed that he was allowed to ask for money. But he had faith in Jesus. He believed that Jesus could heal him. He Said, “I won’t Need-“. “I won’t need that coat any longer, Because I believe that Jesus will heal Me.”. And so he took a step of faith to Jesus. And When he Came To Jesus, Jesus said, “What do you want?”. Oh, This was his opportunity. Every day he was asking for Money. And now Jesus is saying, “What do you want?”. He Could have said, “Can you give me a little bit of money?”. But that’s not what he asked For. He could have said, “Could you give me a little blessing?”. And then gone back and sat blind. But he was asking Jesus for a miracle. He said, “Jesus, I want to see.”. He came to Jesus. He put his faith in Jesus.
Evangelist Daniel King (13:37):
And He said, “Jesus, I want to see.” Open My blind eyes. And do you know what Jesus said. Jesus said, “Your faith has healed you.”. And immediately – The Man opened his eye. And he could see. The first thing he saw. Was the face of Jesus. He was able to say he looked around. You Saw the crowd. He Looked Up. He saw the beautiful sky. For The first time In his life.
Evangelist Daniel King (14:39):
He was able to see. And do you know what he did. He started to follow Jesus. When he received his miracle, he decided to become a disciple of Jesus. And he followed Jesus. And so first the man heard about Jesus. Then the man cried out to Jesus. Then the man went to Jesus. He received his miracle. And then he followed Jesus. And so when you cry out to Jesus. Jesus will save you. Jesus will heal you. Do you want to cry out to Jesus today. Everyone lift your hand high. And let’s cry out on the name of Jesus. Everyone shout Jesus. Say, “Jesus.”. Jesus. Hallelujah. When you cry out to Jesus. Jesus will save you.
Evangelist Daniel King (16:22):
Jesus Will heal you. Jesus will open dry eyes. Say, “Hallelujah.” Peace, hallelujah. Now the man, he left his coat behind. He did not need his coat any longer. No longer would he sit beside the gate Begging For money. Because now his eyes were open. And he was able to see. When you come to Jesus. You need to leave your past behind you. You need to leave your sin in the behind you. You need to leave your sin behind You. And you need to go to Jesus. The Bible says that all have sinned. The price for sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. Jesus died on a cross. To pay the price for our sins. And then Jesus rose from the dead. And Today, Jesus Is Alone. And the Bible promises. Everyone who calls On the name of Jesus. Will you call on Jesus tonight. Lift Up your hand to heaven.And Shout Jesus. We need to leave our past behind Us.
Evangelist Daniel King (18:44):
And go to Jesus. He left his past behind him. And he started to follow Jesus. Jesus is the only one who can set you free from your blindness. Jesus is the only one who can set you free from the trap of sin. Perhaps you have done many bad things in your life. But tonight, you want Jesus to set you free. We are going to say a prayer to Jesus. And when we say this prayer to Jesus. We are going to repent of our sin. We’re going to leave our past behind
Evangelist Daniel King (19:57):
Us. And we are going to choose to follow Jesus. The Bible says. “Everyone who cries out to Jesus. You Will be saved.”. The blind man. Humans cry out to Jesus. Have Mercy on me. And some people told them to be quiet. And tonight, some people might say, “Oh, you don’t need to call on Jesus.”. But tonight is your night For salvation. Tonight Is your night to call On Jesus. And if you will Call out to Jesus. Jesus will set you free from Sin. You will leave your past behind you. And You will have a brand new life. Jesus wants to forgive your sin. Tonight, if you want to cry out to Jesus. I ask you to lift your hand high in the air. If you want Jesus to set you free from sin. Lift your hand high. I’m talking to those who are sitting in the back. You are by the fence back here. If you want Jesus to forgive your sin. Lift your hand high right now. This is not a time to walk away. This is a time to cry out to Jesus. If you want Jesus to save you from sin.
(22:18):
Lift your hand high. We’re going to pray together. I’m going to pray first. And then Pastor David will repeat after, or Pastor Steven will repeat after me. And then I want you to repeat after him. Let me see your hand. If you want to cry out to Jesus. If you want Jesus to save you from. Say this prayer. Say, “Dear God in heaven.”. Say it loud. Dear God in heaven. I cry out to Jesus. Jesus save me. I believe. Jesus died for my sin. I believe. Jesus rose from the dead. I cry out to Jesus. Save me. Amen. Amen.
