Evangelism Podcast Host (00:21):
Jesus said, go into all the world and preach the gospel. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Welcome to the evangelism podcast with Dr. Daniel King, where Daniel interviews, full-time evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and normal everyday Christians to discover how they share their faith, their powerful testimonies and amazing stories that will inspire you to reach people with the good news. And now here’s your host, missionary and evangelist Daniel King. Welcome to the Evangelism Podcast…

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:59):
I’m Daniel King. And I’m excited about telling people about Jesus today. I have a special guest with me, Robbie Leaf, welcome to The Evangelism Podcast.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (01:11):
Thank you, Daniel. It’s great to be here again.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:13):
You were one of the very first guests that I had on my podcast, right? When I was launching it out, I interviewed you. You are native American. And I remember on that first episode, we talked about your heart for reaching native Americans with the gospel of Jesus. It was a great episode. We’ve had lots of tremendous response from it, and you have been continuing to tell people about Jesus. Now we’ve done over a hundred podcasts, Robbie, and it’s time to have you back. And so super excited that you’re here today. Tell me a little bit about what you’re going to be doing over the next couple of months in evangelism.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (02:02):
I’ve been doing local one-on-one evangelism and doing just collaborating with other ministries here, but in June I’m flying out June 4th to Portland, Oregon, and I’m me and two other evangelists, friends who are from the Brownsville revival. Old friends of mine. We feel led in our hearts from the spirit just to go there and go to the, to the tent cities the homeless tent cities and to the inner city and just go to Portland and just share the gospel and in dark places,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:36):
I mean, Portland has been in the news a lot lately. There have been riots in Portland. There’s a group called Antifa that goes and riots that I saw that even burned up an elk statue. So I’m not sure why they’re upset at the elk statue, but they burned it down and it looks like it’s a tremendous place to, to go and, and to, to preach the gospel. Is it that put Portland on your heart to want to go there and, and minister,

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (03:03):
Well, just even being here in Tulsa and going downtown and just some of the places I’ve been doing one-on-one evangelism and my heart’s always been, just play dark places just to places where you don’t see people go shared a lie to gospel people. And we really feel in our heart, this is the time we just have this urgency in our hearts. Like there’s so many people that are hurting and of course our people are angry, but there are searching for something. And yeah.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:33):
Talk to me a little bit about that. That urgency is in your heart. You are an on fire evangelists, you’re, you’re full of fire. Where does that urgency come from? Why, why do you feel this urgency to reach people for Jesus?

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (03:47):
Well, recently I’ve lost a few family members and me and my mom personally have lost a few family, friends, just tragically, whether it’s from car accidents or just alcohol abuse. We’ve had some loss and had a great time of grieving. And but what the Lord’s really been continuing to emphasize in my life is that it’s not the time to like just hesitate or procrastinate. You know, like my mom, my mom’s two friends. They just died in car accidents within a week of other tragically, you know? And I just, for us, it’s like, we don’t know, we’re not promised another day. You know, I mean, today is the day of salvation now as the dead salvation. And I’m just this, this urgency of we just don’t, we don’t know when our, when we take this last breath from, from our lungs, you know, and I’m just feeling like we just had this urgency just to go where people may be wanting to kill themselves.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (04:56):
Maybe they just don’t have the strength to go on. And just, you never know, especially on the streets, there’s some tough streets and the rough stuff happened and we just have this heart. It just emphasizes more that we can’t procrastinate. We don’t know. I don’t know how long my mom has. I don’t know how long some of my family members have, and it’s not the time to hesitate and just wait, well, maybe tomorrow or next week or a month from now, they might not be here tomorrow. They might not be here next week. They might not be here a week a month from now or a year from now. And that’s why I’m filling out register

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:35):
Our family. We recently went through this. My mother went to heaven just a couple of weeks ago and thank God that she was a godly woman. She loved God. I know that she is in heaven, but in moments like these, when, when people die in enter into eternity, you begin to realize how long eternity is. Our time here on earth is, is very brief. It’s just a short length of time, but he turned it. He goes on forever and ever and ever. And when people step into eternity, they will either go to heaven or to hell. And if they know Jesus, if they’ve accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior, then they will spend eternity in heaven with God. But if they have rejected Jesus, or even maybe never even heard about the work that Jesus did on the cross, then they will step into, to eternity and spend forever and ever, and ever in a place of, of punishment for their sins.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:47):
And when you start to think about that, you’re right, it really does create an urgency, a great need for an evangelist to go into, to preach the gospel. We can’t wait, we can’t hesitate. We, we can’t put off witnessing to someone until tomorrow or until next week, but we need people to be enthusiastic about going and sharing their faith. And, and we really are rescue workers, Robbie, you, you and I, as evangelists, we are rescue workers. We are going and trying to rescue people and, and take them out of hell and take them with us to heaven. Yes. So just at the beginning of this year, you had an uncle who went to heaven and then an aunt, and then some of your, your mother’s friends. And then my cousin and then your cousin. So you’ve been really dealing with this a lot. Talk to me some more about this sense of urgency that you feel in rescuing people.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (07:53):
Well especially with my cousin my cousin before, actually since Thanksgiving, just before leading up to, before he passed away in March, he had never, he’d always mocked. When I tell him like, Hey, would you like to come to church with me sometime he’d laugh at me. You know, he didn’t take it seriously, like seriously, you know? And he said, white man’s church, you know, he’d laugh at me and kind of mock me and like, no, these people are awesome, but he just, he just brushed me off. Like, no, you got to be kidding me, you know? But interestingly enough, the first time in my life, it was Thanksgiving. When he was leaving he puts me, put me aside before we walk to the car. And I used for the first time in my life, he asked me about Jesus, about my walk with God and about Jesus and that he was searching that he was kind of thinking about it and what, what what’s like.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (08:53):
And so I share with him a few moments that we had, and then he’s like, can you pray for your brother, bro? You know? And so I prayed for him. He let me pray for him. And I was, I was almost as shocked as he has as anybody like he’s west, we’re praying he had tears in his eyes. Wow. Thanks, Bob. You know, I’ll talk to you more about this. So that was the first time he reached out to me and I see him in the funerals and stuff like that. So when he passed, it was suddenly, you know, he was in a, in a chair in his couch and he had a heart attack and it really devastated me cause I didn’t know, you know, I wish I’ll start thinking those thoughts. I should have reached out to him more about Jesus, you know, about just, just talking to him more about it, you know, but what happened is that three weeks before he passed, he was reaching out to my uncle.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (09:50):
Who’s the only spirit filled believer on my mom’s side. And then so him and a pastor friend came to his house, administered to him and, and ran the gospel to him. And he gave his life to the Lord that night. And he, he said to my uncle that he felt a change that was three weeks before he passed. And of course he struggled with alcohol the last three weeks of his life, but then he would ask, he would call my uncle about, I’m still struggling with this, you know, and come over and talk to me more and I need prayer and stuff like that. And it just kind of to, to reinforce that I probably could have been more of an thank God. God had somebody else like another family member to reach out to him. But what if, what if they didn’t answer that call?

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (10:37):
And it’s like that still urgency of just seeing so many past friends and family members who slipped that way into eternity and you don’t know where they stood and we don’t, we don’t, we’re not promised tomorrow. I mean, we, we always have these fears, you know, when we’re finishing a family too, like all, there’s going to think I’m a weirdo and they’re just going to brush me off and stuff like that. But maybe they won’t. I mean, w w I mean, what do we have to lose? I mean, as evangelists as for me, that would always been my fear, you know, just what, what they would say. And like, they just kind of Think, yeah, but

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (11:24):
Now just seeing people just, you know, die, you know, here tragically just suddenly, it just makes it more into perspective that, Hey, I might not have next week to see my cousin or my mom or my uncle or my aunt or that friend that is struggling. And doesn’t really want Jesus, but is on riding a fence and you and the devil always would try to say, well, you could talk to them next week maybe, or, or just ordered have the tri implant thoughts not to do it. But as on fire Vangelis, you know, we’re not supposed to be afraid of what people think we’re supposed to be dead to reputation. We’re supposed to be dead to ourselves and just do it. Just Lord says, go here, go here, go there. And that’s why it just keeps reinforcing that those people may not have tomorrow. It may not be somebody else’s turn. It may be. Maybe God’s calling you to do it because there may be nobody else that will step up and reach out to that person. It may be you, and you don’t want that blood on your hands. When he’s saying, I called you, don’t wait for somebody else. Don’t wait for a Todd white or a Daniel Colendo or, or Louis God

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (12:48):
Sending a Robbie leaf to reach them. Now, now you have a boldness about sharing your faith in God can work anywhere. Just recently, you were at an I hop international house of pancakes, and you had an opportunity to be part of something that God did there. Tell me about that. What happened when revival broke out at I hop yes.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (13:10):
Happened like I think it’s a little bit, two weeks ago. Yeah. I’m friends with a guy named Christopher Sligo. They call him big C around here, but

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:18):
Yeah, I know big C we’ve been in Brazil together and he has a powerful singing ministry and great heart of an evangelist. So,

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (13:26):
Yeah. So after he has Saturday night meetings at God shining light and revival meetings, so we decided some of us to go to, I hop, you know, and just, just fellowship and to see what the Lord wanted to do. And we ended up being, we ended up going to two IHOPs before, and they were either closed because they had no cooks or they didn’t have enough room. So we ended up going to the one near, or are you

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (13:51):
71St? And Louis I’ve been there many times. Yeah. So

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (13:55):
Y’all our little group. We had a holy ghost prayer meeting at the back. They had a room for us and, and it really there’s. It was like a busy time. I mean, this is our late Saturday night, so it was full, it was packed, but we were having a prayer meeting back there. And then people from the other side that weren’t even saved or struggling with their faith, there’s sort of like three or four people came up after we had that prayer meeting and or saying, Hey, I just want you to let you know, you guys, you guys are a blessing and they will ask for prayer. And we prayed with them and let them even let a couple of them and, you know, into salvation and, and then big C and all of us, when we paid our ticket, we big C pretty much preach to the whole I hop and we backed him up and then it’s like the whole place. It was so amazing. And then after that, there were people coming in and out, we’re praying for leading people to Jesus and praying for them and encouraging them and stuff. And I didn’t, I personally not leave that I have until 4:30 AM that morning

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (14:58):
While you were there a long time, just praying for people and witnessing it’s amazing when revival can break out right inside of a restaurant. So let’s talk a little bit about your, your heart for reaching native Americans this summer. You’re going to go to Portland, then you’re going to go to Seattle. Then what happens after that

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (15:19):
Going into Portland. And then from there we’re going to Seattle and then we’ll go into Tacoma, Tacoma, Washington. And then I think w for a week we’re going to like this part, like a national park, I think it’s 10 commandments park. We’ll think we have an open door to do open air preaching and one-on-one evangelism. And then from there, we’re going to Montana for a week or so. And we’re going to, do we have some open doors on some reservations on Montana or do one-on-one invite them to some meetings at night and we’re going to do one-on-one and just pretty much one-on-one and open air revival meetings, right. Evangelists meetings at night and stuff. So,

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:00):
Yeah. Then later on this year, you’re also reaching out in South Dakota Bismarck, North Dakota, Bismarck, North Dakota. And what will you be doing there? Is that on a reservation?

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (16:11):
I’ve never been to Bismark yet, but I have a friend up there, Nick, he’s doing, he’s forming his first crusade and I’m helping him along, just encouraging him with with forming this first crusade and doing evangelism and stuff like that. So, or we want to do in Bismarck, it’s July 11th. We’re going to, he rented like a, like a civic center. There’s going to be broken walls, Jonathan miracle and broken walls and and a couple other native evangelists. And we’re going to be going to the community and the region and reaching out to people and inviting them in. And we’re going to have just a, like a holy ghost time. It’s like a, kind of like a little bit of a crusade, a mini crusade, but it’s the beginning of something more we’re believing for Bismarck.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (16:56):
Amen. Well, I am in agreement with you. God loves native Americans, and I believe that God has gifted you as a native American to, to speak to those who need Jesus the most. And I know God will, will use you in tremendous ways. You know, we have many different nations right here in Oklahoma, many different tribes. And the Bible says that in front of the throne room of heaven, there’s going to be representatives from every single ethnic group. Every in the Greek language is the word ethnos, which is ethnic. Every nation, every tribe will be represented in front of the throne room of heaven. And so I know that every single tribal group, every single culture, every single distinct nation that is here in will be represented in front of the throne room of heaven. And God has, has given every single culture uniqueness, something that’s different about them and that they will bring to heaven with them. And so I think that what you’re doing in reaching out to native Americans is such a tremendous blessing. Let’s, let’s finish up our podcast with just a time of prayer for the native Americans, right. Of this nation. Yes. Would you, would you lead us?

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (18:24):
Yes. Follow the thank you for this day you made before us father God, we thank you that now is a time of salvation. Now it’s a time of deliverance to the captains. Now it’s a time of healing to our land and to the native people and to all races and all tribes in, in this country, father, God, we declare father God, your presence, your kingdom, come on earth here in Tulsa here on the reservations here in America, as it is in heaven, father God. And we just declare father God, this is the time father, God, to share your light, to share your love to a hurting people. Follow God. We pray father God right now for these open doors. He’s open doors right now on the reservations and on the inner cities while our God that you’re going to open up more opportunities for other vantages, other people that are just so in love with you that want to see a move.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (19:19):
See an awakening here fall. I got to see awakening on the inner cities and in our streets. And then on the reservations for I guy, we just declare that father God, that follow God that your hand is upon all this, that you’re God that we’re just gonna see a great mighty harvest, follow God through, through what we’re doing. Follow God. And just to all the people that you’re rising up in new years, raising up in this country, follow God and all over the world, father God, we thank you, father God for the collaborations, we just pray and declare a protection father, God, a hedge of protection around us. And just to everybody out there that are going to the missions, going out over overseas or on, on, on rough ground, father, God that your hands on their lives to protect them, follow God. And we just continue to believe and proclaim that you’ll provide every need according to riches and glory by Christ Jesus upon our lives father.

Evangelist Robbie Leaf (20:16):
We just thank you for this time. We just thank you for this time an hour. We are in America falling, right? It’s not time to bow to fear. It’s not time to bow to the enemy. It’s not time to bow to all the pressures and all the lies and deception of the enemy. Now it’s a time father, God, to raise a standard. Now is a time to see your hand and see your life and your love shine above all the darkness. And we believe in that. We thank you, father God and proclaim your name. Lord Jesus above every other name we think, oh God, in Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (20:56):
Amen. Well, thank you Robbie leaf for being on the evangelism podcast. Once again. And once you get back from all of these strips to North Dakota and to Montana and to other places evangelizing and preaching the gospel, I’ll have you on again so that you can share all the testimonies because I know people love to hear the testimonies, everything that God is doing in different parts of the world. And I believe that that God has revival for America, wants to see revival here. Amen nations. And so I think you’re a big part of what God wants to do here. Thank you, Robbie. God bless. Thank you, Daniel. Thank you so much.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (21:40):
Thanks so much for listening to the podcast today. If you are excited about leading people to Jesus, would you do me a favor, go to king ministries.com and become a monthly partner with our ministry for a dollar a month. You can help us lead at least one person to Jesus every single month. I think that is one of the best uses of a dollar that you could find over the course of our ministry. We’ve found it costs an average of about $1 that we are able to reach. So for a dollar a month, you can start a party in heaven every time someone gets saved. So thank you so much. And by the way, would you also go to apple iTunes and leave this podcast a review, your positive review would really help other people to find the evangelism podcasts who are excited about evangelism. Thank you. And God bless you
