Main Idea: In order to repent, you need to turn away from your life of sin and start walking towards God.
Verse: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13-14 NIV).
Message: What direction are you heading in?
On the road of life, there are two directions. One direction leads to God and the other direction leads to the devil. One way leads to heaven, the other way leads to hell.
God’s way leads to a life of love, hope, peace, and joy. God’s way leads to an abundant life here on this earth and an eternal life in heaven.
The other way leads to death and destruction. It is full of hate, disappointment, discouragement, and sadness. The devil’s way leads to a meaningless life here on earth and it leads to an eternity in hell.
God created us to go His way. But since we think we know better then God, we turn our back on God and we go our own way.
God’s way is the only way that leads to life. If you go your own way, it leads to death.
The word “repent” means to turn around. We need to turn away from our lives of sin and turn towards Jesus.
The worst sinner will be immediately saved the moment he turns around and heads towards Jesus. Even if you are a thousand steps away from God, it is only one step back.
Will you turn away from your sin and turn towards Jesus?
