Long before nations were called “superpowers” there existed a real super power. This is the power of God that is mightier than any other power on earth. Let’s look at what the scriptures say about God’s power and its ability to heal your body.
The power of God can be compared to electric power. Electricity is a dynamic force which has radically changed our civilization by providing us with light and heat. After this power is generated by huge powerhouses, it flows along electric lines until it reaches an outlet in your house. The electricity is always present in that outlet, but it does not do you any good unless you plug an appliance into the outlet.
Healing power is similar to electric power. God is the supernatural powerhouse, and our faith is the wire that connects us to His power. God’s anointing is always present, but it does us no good unless we plug into it.
Electricity is real whether you believe in it or not; in the same way, God’s power is real whether you believe in it or not. If you refuse to believe in electricity and do not plug your toaster into an outlet, you will eat bread instead of toast for breakfast. Similarly unbelief stops the flow of God’s power.
A “point of contact” is like an electric outlet; it is the place where one uses faith to tap into God’s power. An outlet with nothing plugged into it is useless. God’s power, knowledge, and capability is everywhere and it is always available, but unless someone uses faith to connect to the power, the power is wasted.
The power of God is present to heal your body right now. Use your faith to “connect” with God’s powerhouse to receive your healing.
The infinite power of God
The prophet wrote, “Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you” (Jeremiah 32:17). If God made the earth by His power and uses the same power to keep the stars in their places, don’t you think this power is able to heal your body? (Jeremiah 10:12; Isaiah 40:26).
According to Acts 10:38, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power. Jesus used this power to go around doing good and to heal all who were under the power of the devil. The power of Jesus is far stronger than the power of Satan.
Everywhere Jesus went, He was filled with the power of the Spirit (Luke 4:14). Supernatural power enabled Him to cast out evil spirits (Luke 4:36) and was present when Jesus healed the sick (Luke 5:17). When the crowds touched Jesus, power flowed from within Him and healed them all (Luke 6:19).
Jesus promised to clothe us with the same “power from on high” (Luke 24:49). This promise was given again in Acts 1:8, “…You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…” On the day of Pentecost, Holy Spirit power fell from heaven (Acts 2:1-4). As Christians, we now have the power to “overcome all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19). We can use this power to cast out demons and to cure diseases (Luke 9:1).
Paul fully proclaimed the gospel by using the power of the Spirit to perform signs and wonders (Romans 15:19). Paul was not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God for both salvation and healing for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). His preaching was not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power (1 Corinthians 2:4); “for the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).
Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His day for not knowing the Scriptures or the power of God (Matthew 22:29). Some Christians today have a form of godliness, but they deny its power. Paul tells us to “have nothing to do with them” (2 Timothy 3:5). Never listen to anyone who tells you God does not have the power to heal you today.
