Evangelism Coach Daniel King (00:59):
Welcome to the evangelism podcast. I’m Daniel King and I have a special guest Ben Saatchi. He is from the nation of Ghana and he is the director of African enterprises for the nation of Ghana brother. Ben, thank you for being with me today. Thank

Bernard Sachie (01:15):
You, Daniel. How are you?

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (01:17):
It’s so good to be with you. We are here in Malawi for a great gospel festival, love Malawi festival with Andrew Palau. And next year, Andrew Palau is supposed to go to Ghana. And so you are part of a delegation that is been sent here from Ghana in order to see the festival and then to go home and begin to prepare for what God is going to do there in Ghana. What, what do you hope that God will do in Ghana?

Bernard Sachie (01:45):
So I might say that I’m so excited to be in Malawi. Blantyre is such a beautiful city. And also to have the opportunity of meeting with you, Danielle. Yes, we, we, we are actually expecting love Ghana going in next year and having seen what is happening in Malawi. We believe that God, through the love festival is going to make impact in Ghana and many lives, I believe will be transformed.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (02:12):
So you are with African enterprise, let’s start at the beginning. How did African enterprise get started? I know you have a 60 year history that you’re about to celebrate. How did African enterprise get started? Where did that

Bernard Sachie (02:25):
Background that I can give about, you know, very soon being 60 year an organization is the fact that the leader market Cassidy had a crap hall from the Lord. He was a contemporary of Billy Graham and then he had a clear call to come to Africa because he is also an African to come to Africa and do this ministry in Africa. And so in 1962, he actually started doing vandalism in Africa and African enterprise has a flagship program. We call stratified evangelism with a structural evangelism approach. Our understanding is that in every city, you try to identify the various struck time and make sure that you pack it, the gospel message in such a way that it will meet the need of every structure within the community.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (03:16):
And so you’re trying to reach every single level within the society. Can you tell me how that works? What are some of these different strata that you’re looking to to influence with the gospel?

Bernard Sachie (03:29):
Yeah, so we look at it from the leadership app down approach and everything in between that is to say that in every city we know that there are decision makers. And so we look at it from the government level, from the executive level, from the business community level and even from the credit level. And then we also believe that there are lay people who also contributes to development of nation. And so here you are looking at the market women, the market people, district people, and then down to ed sometimes even to the prison, when we knew that people more or less, you know, share that away from society. But we make sure that each one of them has opportunity to hear the gospel because the gospel is meant for all.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:14):
So tell me what nations is African enterprise working in

Bernard Sachie (04:18):
Currently, we are in 12 African nations. We are in Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Malawi Ghana. We are in DRC Congo. We need to appear very, very recently. We have been to Zambia and then we are also in South Sudan. I don’t know if I’ve left out any country, but 12 African countries we are operating now.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (04:42):
And I know that in each country, your goal is to do one major outreach each year, at least one explained to me what that would look like. You go into a new city. How do you reach out to that city?

Bernard Sachie (04:56):
Okay. So it goes through a process. We normally spend two years to decide for a city. And so what happened is that we do what we called the corrupt and Jewish Schwab operation. That is to say that you visit to sort of identify, you know, the city that you want to go to look at the needs, look at the challenges. And then when that is done, you do what we call a vision custom, an individual custom. You said year to the leadership. They get keepers who are the spiritual leaders of a city. And when they’re able to buy into the idea, then you begin to set up, you know, the planning stages and apprentice stages is where you bring on board, various working teams, a ministry, or a mission of this nature would demand that many hands should be involved. One person cannot do it all. And so I normally say that we need to connect with one another, to be able to impact our city.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (05:54):
So there’s opportunity for other evangelists, ministers from different nations to connect with you and to participate in outreaches.

Bernard Sachie (06:01):
That’s exactly what I’m trying to see because we cannot do it all by ourselves. We need some energy. People must come with other ideas just to compliment what we have and then we’ll be able to impact, of course, we are thinking about a big kingdom, not an individual kingdom.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:16):
And so there’s so many different areas of society that you can impact. You have sports teams, you have the medical profession, you have businessmen the women of the city. What are some other areas that you try to target?

Bernard Sachie (06:31):
I mean, we also, you’re not valid. Typically in Africa, we have a very interesting to know what some countries, they will call border border. In some places, the [inaudible], they are the biannual Moto bike riders, and then there’s for commercial basis. And we also have the taxis. We have the bus, you know, terminals, all of these places. We make sure that the gospel get to them. And of course you can’t leave out the market in new places.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (06:56):
And what are some of the results that you’ve seen from your ministry in Ghana? What what’s been happening? What has God been doing well in Ghana,

Bernard Sachie (07:05):
We must say that we are grateful to God for what he’s doing. Of course the whole nation Ghana, you know, people will say is a Christian nation in which, you know, it, it, it, it has other implications anyway, but when it comes to the gospel, people are very receptive to the gospel. As a, wherever you take the gospel, people are ready to come and listen to you. And so we have been able to make impact over the years. I mean, we are reaching out to a lot of people and the most interesting part is this commercial sex workers that we able to reach out to, and God is leading a lot of them into the kingdom of God, the

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (07:42):
Sex, the sex workers. Yeah.

Bernard Sachie (07:44):
Yeah, because we are not only into proclamation business. We are also into social media intervention program and Ghana, for instance, we reach out to prostitutes and after they’ve given their life to Jesus Christ, we take them to vocational training. We train them to know how to use their house, to do something for, to fend for themselves, because otherwise they will go back into their old life. And so we have been helping them. We pick some people from the streets and we put them through apprenticeship. They are into Taylor lane, dressmaking dressing, cupping tree as a whole lot of, you know, vocational Esker that we are taking them through.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (08:24):
Share with me some of your personal testimony. How did you become excited about evangelism personally?

Bernard Sachie (08:32):
This is, this is great. I mean, it’s a very long one, but of course we can always make it very short. I became a Christian when I was in the high school that was in 1982. But before that I have had a dream I think when I was in prime ministry, I remember very well. I had a dream and in the dream Jesus was calling me to say, I am you to the city to call the people. And he dilated me to a mountain where he says, I am going to wait on this mountain, tell them to come for the adaptment. I never understood it. But when I became a Christian, then I started reading the Bible through the scripture. You knew, and not long, I became a leader. And then I walked through the ranks. And then after completing the paint, I felt like the Lord was leading me into evangelizing the rural area.

Bernard Sachie (09:22):
So I started from the ruler area. And then in 1993, I had a clear call to go to the Bible college. And after wheat, I came pastor in a church. And once I was puzzling, I knew that I was actually into evangelism. And so in 2004, I came in contact with African enterprise. I was asked to organize, I’ve got enterprise festival or mission in a city where I was living. And after I have done that a year later the then team leader called me and said, would you come to our CRA and work for us? And I prayed, I consulted my wife and some other friends. And I had a clear conviction that this is the we go now when I joined African enterprise and I looked at the mission statement, vandalizing the cities of Africa through whether indeed it resonated with the vision that I had, God calling me into the city to call people and direct them to himself. And so this is where I see myself as an evangelist, actually living to fulfill the code that God has given to me.

Evangelism Coach Daniel King (10:27):
Well, I so love your passion for Jesus and your passion for evangelism. It’s wonderful to hear what God is doing through you in Ghana. And one day I hope to come preach with you and Ghana.
